Like what?

We can do something like a buffy type theme? You know, have like a group of 4-5 good guys, and an arch enemy that is always planning and controlling all the bad guys.

I'm just saying that this forum gets about 5 posts a week. It'd be slow and everyone would lose patience with it.
 
AND ANOTHER THING. Stop deleting successful roleplays. After the elements one and the Westminster schools one or whatever I named it, I had a kajilion posts and since they're gone it made me go down to practially 0. That's annoying.
 
the reason why i'm reluctant to RP again, is because I know sooner or later, people will leave, and the same thing that is happening now, will happen again.
Also, it's finals atm so I don't have much time available for RPing.
maybe, instead of coming up with new RPs, we should just revive some of the old ones. go to the archive, see which ones have potentially, and actually finish a RP for once.
just my opinion.

Face it. We all found better things to do.
Yeah, Roleplaying is fun. It's awesome.
That rush where you can see everything...when your imagination creates the whole scene.
It's awesome.
But we made it a chore...
...instead of a hobby.
That's why we left.
Because we kept pressuring each other into posting because we wouldn't wait to post again.
When your forced to do something you begin to dislike it...Kind of like school.
That's why alot of people don't like school anymore.
....but...yeah.
Stop the bull****.
And this IS NOT directed at just one person, but all of us.
And...how did this help? Why did I post this?
...I'm trying to say...if you start again...
...5 posts a week...is enough.
Be patient.
Or else Roleplaying will die here, once again.

Yeah, okay. xD I see several references to my post.
And I never said post count matters. I said it's annoying to see it change drasticaly a lot.
And people will see it as "Five posts a week, it's not even worth it" so despite an inspiring post such as that, it probably won't change anything. Unless we get a lot of new but talented roleplayers all at once...
 
Many people are apprehensive about joining an RP cause they think they'll make themselves look foolish cause they have no idea what their doing, so instead of joining and trying the RP they just look over it and never give it another thought.

...because obviously you don't want to roleplay yourself...your just intrested in getting more people.
And when more people do come, you just insult them.

I wasn't looking to change anything other than to make people realize that as long as you have two people and a thread...It's enough to roleplay.
Even 5 posts a week is enough to get a story done. Adds to the suspense.

The reason I stopped posting was because of school (writing my final FINAL exams atm)
So I can start again in Dec
If anyone else is interested, we can bring back a couple of threads and whatnot.

If I didn't care about roleplaying, other than getting members, and just insulted the ones (who didn't deserve it =\) then I wouldn't have posted anything to brainstorm ideas for making this place better.
And I would definitely roleplay, if someone would write a decent roleplay. We've got a few now, but none I'm terribly interested in. If I invested my time and my good roleplaying skills (thanks for the compliment) in every roleplay I saw as mediocre, I'd be bored and leave. That's why I join the ones I like, the ones well-written and seem to actually have a plan, not something like "Okay, we're in another world and there are demons here and you are humans with magic powers and you have to beat them. Here are the character outlines".
No, I'll admit I'm not satisfied with five posts a week. This place has seen better. But I realize that sometimes it's necessary to have such low numbers to get higher ones.


I see two references to my post, by the way. Post count, and five posts a week.
 
I agree with you on the decent roleplays.
Most of the roleplays suck.
but maybe, we spend to much time brainstorming then actually roleplaying.
And we don't roleplay because their are no good roleplays.
And their are no good roleplays because we're to lazy to move the mouse over to "New thread"...and make a new roleplay.

🙄Umm I was thinking that yeah some of the roleplays do suck (including mine) but if we could find a way to help the people who are making sucky roleplays better then thats a plus to. It seems to me that people are just going out and making threads so there would be some.

Than it would turn into something like pirates invaded the town and you were either a pirate or a prisoner of theirs and it turned into a really awesome story.

With regards to the whole "good roleplay/bad roleplay" thing...I think even if the initial post was mediocre at best, we (the RPers) can still turn it into something good, and worth while. Nothing is 'set'. So if a newbie made a thread with a somewhat screwed up plot (or whatever), we can still utilise what we were given, and make something brilliant out of it. So I don't believe in the whole "this roleplay seems sucky, so I won't post in it".

I've seen many a RP's I made on various other sites explode like crazy even though they had horrible plots. Its all about how much you want to put into it to make it great.

I can only start RPing after Nov.
But it would be interesting to see how many RPs we can actually finish.
