I think you need to take it less seriously, or if you really can't, then maybe this isn't the board for you.

As for controlling of characters, sometimes it's hard to progress if you don't do a little. Otherwise every conversation would be extremely awkward and take forever to get through.

And as Cory said, none of the RPs have really gotten far enough into things for terrible tragedies to happen yet.

And the awesome characters thing, well...the only place I can think of is The Awakening, and it's intended to be like that. They're badass, untouchable Ancient Vampires, trying to rid the world of Edward Cullen types.

Seriously, from your complaints it just seems like you're taking this waaay too seriously. RP IS SRS BIZNIZ and all that. It's just...for fun. I don't do it because I'm trying to... I don't even know what hardcore everything-has-to-be-perfect roleplaying achieves, aside from plenty of arguments and people getting pissed off.
I'd rather just be hanging out with friends and having fun to be honest.

They're just things Raziel and I came up with as we've been here quite some time and seen a very drastic change in the way RP used to be done and the way it is now.

No need to get everyone's panties in a bunch, was just throwing things out WE were thinking of. We'll be sure to keep our mouths shut and let you guys prattle on. Never said it had to be SRZ BZNS just.. not so outlandish. /shrug.

Like I said, perhaps we're just anal about it because we've done it so long and been here for a long amount of time, enough time in which to take notice to the large amounts of changes that have gone on since we stopped RPing on here when the oldies that we used to RP with all the time left.

Edit: Also, they're not complaints. This IS the suggestion section, am I right? So, they're suggestions.

Be easy my children. No need for silly arguements. All suggestions and the like are considered. The reason the Roleplay Discussion Thread was made was because of the amount of OOC in RP threads, but after a while it was like Pfft who really cares. Going to that thread was too much of a hassle.

Like Laura pointed out, What we're doing is a means to lessen the state of our boredom. It's all fun and games, there's no reason to take anything serious and there's certainly no reason that you shouldn't take it seriously, 'tis up to you.

What has changed exactly? I remember when I first came here. Nobody was posting, nobody was willing to post. The only one around was Keikoa. Everyone else seemed to have gotten over it. I think the way things are done now keeps us coming back. For me personally I like how it's done, it's fun and chill. If this place were serious and we only spoke to one another about roleplaying related stuff i'd get over this really quickly.

As far as I'm concerned everyone posting writes really really well. I don't see any change in the Roleplaying here apart from new people.

Also: If you're going to make suggestions... then roleplay. :hmm:

I would if I found a roleplay that actually help my interest for more than a few posts.

I tried to get into 'The Fall of the King' but it was a hassel to keep up with. I'd post, go to bed, and come back and my post be lost pages back so I kind of just gave up on it. I'm picky when it comes to RP but I -hate- trying to start one up myself. /facepalm. I'm odd, sue me.
 
Fair enough, I thought you were more a little pissed or something, lol. I wasn't around in the old times, but the way you talked about things reminded me a lot of how things were for roleplaying in the chat rooms, and I hate a lot of things about that.

Everyone just acted like dicks for the most part... I was never in the inner circle of proper roleplayers simply because most were enormous assholes who shunned anyone who didn't immediately know everything about everything from the moment they started, and looked down on someone who didn't want to fight with them 24/7. That sucked because I was told a lot I was fast but I wasn't too interested in fighting, and on top of that I didn't like the pressure with it. It would put me off. BUT I DIGRESS; ENOUGH RAMBLING.

Plus, I don't see how this is outlandish. This is just the way we roleplay; it's the way I see people roleplaying everywhere. I personally do it as though writing a story where the central character that is focused on is the one I'm playing.

I'd like to know how you did do it before, seriously. It'd be interesting to see how the oldies did it and stuff.

Also, I agree with Frosty. The way things are is working well enough, and it's what keeps us coming back and new people joining us. I like that it's a relaxed environment, and if it was all too serious I'd not have taken to it as much and would've probably gone elsewhere.
However that doesn't mean we can't cater to everyone. For example if you don't like you character being controlled at all then you can just say so and we'll make sure to leave you full control over them. No reason not to compromise and make sure everyone's happy.

You could even start an RP where the style is more like the way you're used to, like it was back in the day and things, and explain how it's meant to work and such and we could give it go. If you're not into making them yourself you could always make a...training area or something. Detail how things are to be done and we could have a very basic, casual thing, like just a bunch of people chillaxin' in the woods, a tavern, that kind of thing. Just as an experiment/lesson in the old ways and stuff.

Just got done posting. Got bored. Was gonna try to make a cool character.... Maybe if you make one for me, preferably a Fallen Troll, I'd join in seriously.

Snoop around, read up a bit, because you're a Seeker now.

The Holders Series is fairly deep, but we can manage it, I think. The problem is that everyone would be isolated as they Seeked. If there was a certain fellowship of Seekers, we could do it, but everything would be super dependent on everyone's actions.

Not to mention there is a LOT of shit to read if we're to familiarize ourselves with it, as it's too much to summarize. But it's just something to think about, an idea to build upon, and maybe soon we can work out the creases and folds.

Oh, and if you guys start this before I can commit with my own computer, I'll skin you all alive, one by one.
