Roleplaying Suggestions.

The storyline is the most important thing...
...that would be true, if you were writing a book.
Storylines have an important role in roleplays too...
...but they are not completely nessecary.
I believe you know the thread "The Tavern"....That roleplay has no storyline whatsever, yet it was once the most popular thread out there.
Here, this thread...say someone wanted a thread with pimps and werewolves, we could use and build upon it.
...or...
We could make a thread, with just pimps and werewolves and let the story go where it wants to go.
A storyline offers more control over a Roleplay, though it's not completely nessecary.

You do have a point there on the storyline being not necessary due to its "using and building upon it as it goes" functions. It'll enable people's imagination in order to use it and spread it over the horizon without any limits, but it's not common in the roleplaying community. Why? I can tell that it's quite common in here, and I just wanted to offer my two cents by telling that the storylines do exist in roleplayings as well.

Coming from my perspective based on my experiences with roleplayings on foundations, I cannot imagine roleplaying in a roleplay without any the storyline. Oh, how do I explain this? Let's say, if someone hands you all pieces you need to build an object and they don't have any instruction on how to assembly these pieces together, and now you have to do it with your knowledge. I feel it's a lost cause because you don't know what you can do with these pieces without any instruction. It goes same for the roleplaying without a storyline. The storyline is like an instruction that you can use outside of the box, limited or not, so you will know what you can do.

Yes, Storylines will make a thread more fun because people know what to do...instead of just sitting there like "Now what?"...
Though, like you said. They are not common in here, because people tend to leave for long periods of time.
When people leave...it makes massive obstacle in the Roleplay to get over..

Do you know the reason why several people left for long periods of times? Do you truly know why? I'll tell you why. That's why.

The current roleplaying community in Chat-Avenue is a chaos. The community is not completely organized orderly, not completely reliable, and not resourceful enough. A lot of roleplayers including myself left because of these reasons. It's not organized enough because you have different divisions going on like the ones without storylines, which encourages people to give up because they have no clue of what's going on. It wasn't reliable enough because some roleplayers had no one to turn to for feedback and help on their skills and they had no guidelines to follow through until LCP came along and helped out by setting up the guidelines for others to follow. It's not resourceful enough, because there is no order in here to follow and there weren't any resources for roleplayers to use or understand the concept of it.

So, what I suggest for you and other roleplayers is trying to make different methods of roleplayings in order to attract other roleplayers here rather than scaring them off.

What the f u c k...
...That's exactly what I said needs to be addressed in the other thread, yet you seemed to have ignored the issue.
Do you honestly believe that a new roleplayer that comes in here and sees...

" The Tavern [Basic] "
" Deserted Islands [ Advanced ONLY]"

" Mentor- (Stranger)
Trainee- Roleplayer 1
Trainee- Roleplayer 2

THIS THREAD IS FOR THEM ONLY.

...Would encourage them to stay?
If I saw that, It would discourage me to roleplay because it makes it look like this big complicated thing when it actually isn't.
The idea was good...but it doesn't attract new roleplayers.

That is a good point. Like in that one thread I think you were running it all kinds of different threads that pertained to everyone. That would be a very good thing for everybody who thinks that roleplaying is hard, it would get them eager to come.

-Places his elbow onto a table and then lays his cheek onto his knuckles while propping his feet up onto a window sill-

How about a topic that is halfway ****ing interesting. The rp staff have dwindled down to a bunch of children that have lost every little inch of imagination that they had. Like the thread that Stranger made. That idea has been done before. Many times before. Cause all it is is nothing more then one giant ass whooping that is waiting to happen.

My " Tavern " idea has been done before. Too many times and that idea is old. Most of the threads now are about a bunch of kids get trapped on an island which a man in a mask. And thats just putting them lightly. This forum used to have alot of originally. Until the Sponge/Amy incident.

Kind of hard to be original, when you done just about everything possible.
=/
....
Care to enlighten us with you original ideas?

Great. just blame everything on me >.> it's not my fault Sponge always picks on me <.< pfft.

Anyhow..the way I see it, nothing can ever be truly original..because whatever new things we come up with, it would've been done before. (i can't remember how many vampire/wearwolf (sp?) RPs we've had)

so maybe instead of spending all our brain power trying to invent a totally new storyline/idea, we should rather spend that energy trying to make existing RPs work..because what usually happens is..towards the end, only a couple of people bother posting..and that's why most of the threads never finish..i think so far, only 2 RPs actually ended (Elements and the other one but i can't remember the name)

so maybe we should just make a RP that's flexible and easy to manuevour (sp?) and something that can actually develope..

What thread did I create in the past? I don't recall any.

For everyone else who is looking for originality: if you want originality, make it original then.

I'll propose a couple of my ideas in the following list:

- The Triangled Amulet: It's a similar roleplay in Alliance that I proposed. For hundreds of centuries, several wars has broke out and bled the world to death between vampires and lycans, demons and hunters over the rightful power of holding the amulet in own possession. It's no originary amulet It's about a search for the amulet that will bring back the forgotten empire, bring back the immortality, bring back the invincible power that no one can strike against the empire or they'll be tainted with death. After the Great War two milleninas ago, the Amulet vanished along with its guardian and no one seemed to know where to find it.

I can post more if anyone's interested in reading them.

The man rolled the marble around some more.

Amy I'm not blaming it on you. I was just saying that the originality left after that incident.

I know I'm saying something that everybody knows already, but we really need a thread that appeals to everyone the advanced as well as the new.

The only new ones here are the three spankies that appeared from outta Cm's ass. And Erebus too stupid to realize that you have done T1 before Keikoa. you've done it against me and Amy and even Nick. No you are a tad rough on the edges but you are better then most of the people I have seen.

I remember RPing that thread but then no body replied Lol..

Indeed, but the Triangled Amulet is becoming a success in Alliance at this moment. However, I will continue to pursue different ideas of establishing roleplayings because I don't feel like repeating the same roleplaying.

In order to do that, I'd like to know everyone's preferences of roleplaying genres, types of roleplaying techniques such as conflicts including wars, searching for a lost possession, etc. Please list them down and I'll be sure to think of a new roleplaying that will satisfy roleplayers including yourself.

fav = anything that's got magic in it <3 (like elemental magic etc..err..i like harry potter =/ it would be cool if we had a RP like that =]))

don't like = something that's too technical..like, if you need to know all the guns etc..because i only know a hand gun..and when ppl come up with all these models, i get confused.

I just like, sort of, dark, sometimes scary, something like resident evil, something with vampires, I mean a proper warzone would be awesome.

Giving me an idea..

If you had two different teams.
randomly picked teams each sitting in two different sides of a trench so one is fighting the other, killing can be allowed You've just got to make it so you don't pop your head up and stick a sign above your head and be like "SHOOT ME." but kind of like roleplaying the terrors that they faced in World war 2 (And 1, if they used trench warfare in world war 1.) what do you guys think?

And Fearless, only knowing a machine gun to a handgun is fine, most people get the idea anyway..

That would be good, sounds interesting. Especially the random teams part.
