Should Chatrooms have more staff than users?

After touring several rooms, Ive noticed that a few rooms, have more staff than users. This leads to top heavy rooms, and I suggest moving the small rooms into larger ones, where the staff can actually do things or for the site to impose limits of over hiring.

What is the point in having 5 staff in a room with 3 users?

back to the preoccupation of numbers again

chat room mods are users too. the thought is to get the site to grow. so it would stand to reason as a site owner youd want mods to visit/relax in forums. that not only ups the numbers for forums. it might get users from the rooms to forums and vice versa.

low numbered rooms have a purpose. its sad this cant be accepted. its also sad that the larger rooms seem to have/had admins who thought 1 mod could handle 300+ other users at one time. it seems as if the #1 rule of having fun, turned into just a catch phrase, because theres no fun in being told when to show up or how to handle several hundred other users.

i hope your finished. seriously. its funny in a giggle snort way to see you hit bottom of the barrel and burn what bridges you had left. but its cringey to see you go after innocent users (including mods) out of pure drunken hatred and malice. because this way , your proving everybody right.

So much this.

If we have time to chat in main then the room numbers will pick up quickly as joiners see actual chat activity and stay to join in themselves. That results in more people returning and hopefully becoming long term members 🙂

5 mods to 3 ******** , i'm a mod n DT that has over a thousand ******** and we don't even have 5 mods lol

Well not all rooms have the guest account bot farm to pump up numbers... I wonder if those stick around now with new management...

There has to be some sort of irony into advocating combining rooms given that combine rooms was a username that a certain accidental link posting creep used in several rooms.

It would seem that some of this suggestion has been taken on board, perhaps before you even suggested it as we have an admin that now admins 3 rooms
 
Time Zone Coverage. For example room consists of an Indian & American as staff. In terms of time zones, we have no one in between having one more person or someone that’s actively in the room in general would be helpful.
