Should Chatrooms have more staff than users?

After touring several rooms, Ive noticed that a few rooms, have more staff than users. This leads to top heavy rooms, and I suggest moving the small rooms into larger ones, where the staff can actually do things or for the site to impose limits of over hiring.

What is the point in having 5 staff in a room with 3 users?

Hello. I have several thoughts on this topic...

1) The downsides of not having a room adequately staffed are fairly obvious, but I'd be curious to hear more about your concerns on the other end of the spectrum. Can you please list your perceived downsides of having a well-staffed room?

2) Additionally, some chätters (myself included) prefer chatting in a smaller room. Although large rooms can be desirable for some, smaller rooms have their advantages as well. Having a large variety of different room sizes and types helps cater to a broader user base.

3) Staff are chätters too. In addition to them moderating the room, mods in the small rooms in particular make for great conversationalists. Staff in smaller rooms help progress the conversation and keep chat moving, especially when the current user count is on the lower end.

@Kim can you dream of 500+ chadders? askin for fairy....

this isn't directed towards me, but i think i can provide some insight on this...

how hard can it be to buy a bot script??? i guess pretty hard if youre broke as a joke from drownin' in medical debt from needin' constant eye surgeries...

not sayin' thats what is goin' on here, administrator actually has a successful enough website where other ppl flood the room with bots on their own accords instead...

i hope that gives fairy the answer she needs in life, no? 🤷🏼‍♀️

EDIT, note to self; healthcare is free in england

5 mods to 3 ******** , i'm a mod n DT that has over a thousand ******** and we don't even have 5 mods lol

I don't know why this got glossed over and not addressed, because you're right. When I hear about rooms that have more staff than users, my brain implodes. If a moderator can't regularly handle 1k+ users, they should probably be sent to the Adults for better training.

Apparently there's also a rule directly from Chatmaster that having more than 2 moderators in a room at one time scares users away.

Touching on the training subject may be it's a good idea for chat ave to have a training room for all new staff members with ex admins/UMs as the trainers/tutors.

The sad thing is Lis, most just want a mod position for clout , they apply and soon realise it's not all as it's cracked up to be . My ethos was , id rather have a few good mods ( which they all were ) rather than lots of sh"tty ones.

I have seen that Kim.
