The Yes/No Game

They probably all sold out when it was announced lol

Have you ever been to any big Scottish events?

I went on a little boat to find Nessie. Does that count?

Do you know what career you want to have in ten years' time?

Yes and I'm nowhere near doing that now. It's funny how life deals you different hands and you adapt to play the game differently

Have you reached the point in life yet where you randomly stop and think "wtf!?" more than once a day?

Not really. You just sort of memorize the important ones and learn to say good morning and good night in passing.

Do you buy your own presents for under the tree and/or fill your own stocking with goodies?

The question was because you mentioned that you were a parent. I don't know how old your littles are, but parents often find themselves purchasing their own gifts when the littles are too small for real gift giving.

Yes, I do stockings every year stuffed with goodies.

Does the winter / holiday season bring about seasonal depression for you?

Oh, my kids were in their teens when i left my ex-wife. so any stockings when they were younger were done by her. After the separation I made sure she had them christmas day so that she'd still do the stockings...she likes to get them tons of crap for them...we always celebrate christmas on christmas eve since it's a chilean thing anyways...

I don't really get affected by it. Which is good cause on the shortest day of the year it's like 9 1/2 hours of sunlight here.

do you know if your library lends out SADS lamps?

I do. I worked at the library for 7 years so my card still says employee...which grants me a no expiry on borrowings.

have you been to the library recently?

No, it's been quite some time. They're lovely though and absolutely worth a visit. My boy child is pretty insistent on owning the series of books he's reading currently, so whenever he devours one, we go to the bookstore to purchase the next one in the series.

Did you enjoy your job at the library more than your current employment?

Yes and no. I was the senior systems administrator for a large public library...so I had 20+ branches that i managed from an IT perspective...lots to do and lots of cool things to work on...but as time went on it got to be very corporate and the director I had towards the end sucked the fun out of fucking around to make things work for patrons...so while I loved it...it changed. Now I work from home 100% where I do maybe an hour or two of actual work because the rest of the time i'm waiting for change management approvals and maintenance windows...and the money is really good.

do you miss an old job?

Yes and no, in a similar situation that you described above. I absolutely loved it when it was what I loved. But due to circumstances out of my control, it changed and it was never the same. I held on for as long as I could, but I couldn't see it through the change and eventually had to step out. I couldn't be more grateful I had that experience, and I couldn't be more grateful that I'm now gone.

Are you getting what you want out of life?
