Not saying they miscalculated in a few areas. It happens. Whomever conducts a perfect war? Intelligence is incomplete. Im not going to knock them there.
Yup, a problem as old as war itself. Kingdoms alwways had to deal with factions within kingdoms taking control or not honoring peace agreements. Nothing new there. The only canstant in this entire affair is, Iran can't be trusted. If you're dealing with leadership that agrees to something and the very next day lobs missiles, how are you going to deal with them on anything. Their entire exestence they've done nothing but lie. It used to be, kingdoms had a thing called honor where nothing but a handshake was needed to keep the peace. Not today.
Yeah, the defense industry makes money during war. That's what they are in business for. Even in the middle ages the blacksmith was making a killing (no pun intended.)
I do believe that is an issue with both sides. Right and left pretend their party is perfect. I routinely tell family members if you think every single thing a president is doing is right, you're wrong. I think there are a lot of mistakes Trump has made prosecuting this but not as a result of ineptness but wishcasting rather than living in reality. You can wish all you want Iran is going to accept a peace agreement but it is never going to happen. If you don't make it as painful as possible so they're signing on the deck of the Battleship Missouri, they will never stop. They may make some agreements in public, but they will go right back to rebuilding. Know your enemy. Don't do "proportionate" responses. Conduct DISPROPORTIONATE responses.
Well thanks for being able to admit that. Everyone gets things wrong. You mentioned intelligence though and many at the Pentagon hold stocks in weapons and energy companies. I can't trust a system that gathers intelligence and advises about war while they stand to benefit from war.
I think after Midnight Hammer there was no nuclear threat anymore. That's why it was supposed to be the end. Also Iran hasn't been blindly attacking their neighbors. They were attacking US embassies and bases. They say 'civilian targets' even though it's not that.
Let me explain. In the chat room I frequent there's a woman who is a complete troll. I'll say something about a woman I don't like in politics like, "Yeah she's an idiot. I'd never support someone like that in office." This troll will start spamming that i said i think women are stupid and I'd never support them in politics. This whips up some of the room to attack me.
Another example is I'll argue with anyone that wants to argue. Men and women both in there. I've been labeled misogynist for arguing with women though by these people while they ignore the fact i argue with men too.
So the media and intelligence agencies do the same exact thing to countries. The omit certain key facts or use broad statements to push us to war or to supporting one side of a war. I'm not saying Iran is an innocent country at all, but I don't believe our own guys anymore than them. How could I? If we go to war our guys get richer.
Also starting the war drives up oil prices and what does Ukraine sell a lot of to buy American weapons?
See my point? Every person calling the shots in this war have every reason to keep it going. Another example is doctors. The percentage of Americans being put on medicine they don't need has risen drastically. Doctors get incentives for prescribing certain medicines for certain companies. Once again conflict of interest and the result.
Just over half our military budget goes to weapon manufacturers labeled as contractors. A stinger missile launcher costed around 16k back in the 90s. Today it's almost 400k. Almost the same price as a soldier serving 3 to 4 years in the military. It's disgusting.
Last thought. They could be telling truth. I can admit that's a possibility. These people though have every excuse to lie and have been caught lying more than once. I can guarantee you if this turns into boots on the ground the guys in the Pentagon and these companies are gonna be celebrating on their yachts saying, "Business is good." while our soldiers lay dead or dying on the battlefield or being sent home with body parts missing. These government officials and companies they're in bed with have no care about the homeless veteran issue in America. Hey at least the soldiers who make it back get a 10% discount at fast food joints.
