I believe you’re just a bot. Is that a kind of faith too? A religion?

And I was raised religious, but lost my stomach for it after some personal things. This is why I can quote the bible, pretty much start to finish, but think that religion is a farce.

I didn’t say God, mind you. I meant religious people are all as bad as the rest of us humans. I think we’re all pretty much fucked, to be honest.

THIS...people don't see that (organised) religions (ALL OF THEM) and the belief in a higher being or faith in something better are 2 entirely different things.

Fun fact about the Bible, and the Koran and anything written in that time line, they were all written by scribes, who were charged with writting down something from memory, that was more than likely not able to be double checked by the person who was instructing the scribe because that person could not read or write.

but in the end it doesn't matter. Because it isn't as if the RCC or any religion is interested in proper interpretation of anything in regards to what they teach.

And what isn't explained in the bible is tossed back to " Natural law " and other non-sense.

Organized religion is the only system in place that does not recognize the individuals right to choose who their leaders are, does not recognize women as an equal among men to lead as mean do in said religion. Organize religion is the last stone age system in place for those men who want to be in a position of power to get into power and be lords over simple minded people all in the name of their organized religion.

Mean while what ever God they choose to serve, is more than happy to do nothing to correct the ****.

One can look up the dead sea scrolls, and texts of the massoretic jews, and see how they almost unerringly carried on the oral traditions over a 1000 year timeline.

Most biblical scholars would agree the text is correct, and the so called "errors" are mostly of a minor clerical nature. This however is a completely different subject than "interpretation" which in the case of the RCC? for them is a matter of cannon.

Interpretation and belief? That is an entirely different topic. But it is interesting that bible critics record one typo in 3000 bibles as 3000 errors.

Besides, the bible is a tool not the religion, and the first real christians did not have a heirarchy they did not have "leaders" They shared common property, sold the excess and gave it all to the poor and lived communally. Women had positions of importance, True Christianity is nothing at all like institutional Religion. One would need to read the the book of Acts which makes that clear.

as for the RCC scribes,? Might want to rethink that one, they were educated, scholars in many languages, latin and greek certainly, and probably hebrew as well. Might want to read about Jerome as well.

The thing that annoys me, is if you dare go against the church or the church’s interpretation of the bible, you’re ostracised, demonised and labeled a heretic and blasphemer.

Didn’t Jesus himself sit and challenge so-called religious scholars when he was just 12 years-old? He sure pissed them off.

The church is still just a bunch of old, geriatric farts telling kids do as they say, as per their ancient, perverse interpretation of the bible, or you’re going to sit your ass in molten lava for the rest of eternity, without even a drink of water.

Just some more of my opinion on this ancient cult.

Yes, but when you’re 15 you don’t have much of a choice. I’m still dragged along to church services, listening to the same boring old person drone for over an hour about how terrible I am, how my only hope is to become a lifetime member of their cult.

But hey, they still make it out to be my choice somehow, even if I’d prefer to worship in my own way, away from these hypocrites and liars and paedophiles.

The ‘church cult’ as a whole can kiss my ass.
