This has nothing to do with Pride month, but everything to do with people who have egos and look down on others, which is what you're doing.
 
I see how this thread was moved away from the debate forum by the moderators. I guess the moderators conceded that there's no debate. This isn't the only thread that I've had moved from the debate forum to the general forum. Some interesting decisions they've made.
 
I don't understand why the bible has to mention every single situation of whatever is happening. People are getting angry and frustrated and I'm clueless about whatever is happening. People wanted your threads to be closed anyway. A few people reluctantly opened this thread because of how many threads you make or made.

The admins are moving your threads because they don't know where to put them, it's confusing and you can't expect them to know where they belong. The majority say it's not a debate while the others say it's a "debate" which could cause negativity. I can't name them or I might be infracted. But, to be clear your posts are indeed getting repetitive and I have nothing more to say.

One of the chat moderators basically labeled someone... I'm not going to say anymore as I said before, but man if you are bread and know bread I swear you need to be banned...

This is why Christian religion is a farce. It’s full of hypocritical bigots, not unlike the Pharisees of old that even Jesus thought were assholes, and often used them as examples of evil in his stories.

They think they’re so good, so holy, so much better than the rest of us. Doesn’t the New Testament teach that the kingdom of God belongs to the meek, the humble, the poor, the outcasts?

A lot of these fundamentalist spend their lives in either the Old Testament, where everything is bad and God is all wrath and jealousy, or in Revelations, talking about the end of days being nigh (which people have been doing for a thousand years anyway).

You’re all sinners. Jesus says to not worry about the speck of sawdust in your neighbour’s eye and ignore the log or plank of wood in your own (Luke 6:41 and Matthew 7:3).

I believe you’re just a bot. Is that a kind of faith too? A religion?

And I was raised religious, but lost my stomach for it after some personal things. This is why I can quote the bible, pretty much start to finish, but think that religion is a farce.

I didn’t say God, mind you. I meant religious people are all as bad as the rest of us humans. I think we’re all pretty much fucked, to be honest.

Fun fact about the Bible, and the Koran and anything written in that time line, they were all written by scribes, who were charged with writting down something from memory, that was more than likely not able to be double checked by the person who was instructing the scribe because that person could not read or write.

One can look up the dead sea scrolls, and texts of the massoretic jews, and see how they almost unerringly carried on the oral traditions over a 1000 year timeline.

Most biblical scholars would agree the text is correct, and the so called "errors" are mostly of a minor clerical nature. This however is a completely different subject than "interpretation" which in the case of the RCC? for them is a matter of cannon.

Interpretation and belief? That is an entirely different topic. But it is interesting that bible critics record one typo in 3000 bibles as 3000 errors.

Besides, the bible is a tool not the religion, and the first real christians did not have a heirarchy they did not have "leaders" They shared common property, sold the excess and gave it all to the poor and lived communally. Women had positions of importance, True Christianity is nothing at all like institutional Religion. One would need to read the the book of Acts which makes that clear.

as for the RCC scribes,? Might want to rethink that one, they were educated, scholars in many languages, latin and greek certainly, and probably hebrew as well. Might want to read about Jerome as well.

Yes, but when you’re 15 you don’t have much of a choice. I’m still dragged along to church services, listening to the same boring old person drone for over an hour about how terrible I am, how my only hope is to become a lifetime member of their cult.

But hey, they still make it out to be my choice somehow, even if I’d prefer to worship in my own way, away from these hypocrites and liars and paedophiles.

On your first point 100% agree. The bible is quite clear that christians are expected to use their minds and learn and think for themselves.

While Jesus did "challenge" religious leaders when he was young, that didn't "piss them of" the bible says the so called scholars were "amazed" but they might have been annoyed

"The Church" ? who is that exactly? I think you mean institutional christianity?

To me, "The church" represents the social gospel which is spending most of our time actually trying to improve the world and for our fellow person, and much less time worrying about dogmas or church doctrine.
 
I have read the bible twice, during my teenage years.(I see nothing with it, but each their own) But there's a pbs documentary thats on this topic...when I get the title I'll post it. It's pretty interesting, but it's 6 hours long though lol.

I assume the last definition pinky, its the only once that with one brush stroke covers almost all of christianity. Plus it works where I say about the social gospel as being a force for social change 🙂

There is nothing intolerant with asking questions and challenging.

BUT then free thinking is difficult for some people.

I would highly recommend the work of Joseph Campbell who explored archetypes and myths in many of his writings. The Hero with a Thousand Faces is a classic book. He can get pretty deep so be prepared. He was also a bit controversial. And if people are a nerd like me, Campbell’s work influenced George Lucas in the development of some of the archetypal characters in the Star Wars movies. 🤓

I was simply suggesting a more tolerant approach, because even if you don’t agree with a particular religion, for many people that faith helps them get through life. That’s all. 😊 ✌🏻

The social gospel? In the West, in particular Canada, The socialist /Leftist political parties and others were led by "church" Ie religious activists- who where determined to improve the lives of their fellow person.

Quakers, who don't actually use/have/own a church, have no hierarchy, but yet are christian, -- started Greenpeace, were leaders in woman's suffrage, and centuries before anyone else was treating the mentally ill with compassion and care, began a facility called "the retreat" and work tirelessly on poverty issues , legal reforms, and much more.

Christian anarchists, and most of the leaders of the social justice movements come from the ranks of the social gospel. In Canada, Tommy Douglas (a leader of the social democrats) also from the social gospel- and is the reason in Canada we don't pay for healthcare.

None of which means "the church" is good or bad or should or shouldn't be respected. Character and action are more important to whichever membership card one claims to have or be part of.
 
I have such admiration for liberation theology and such activists, but Christian Nationalist theocrats have been a thorn in my queer ass lately.

Most US versions of Google definitions will say oral due to said ruling, but British English (and thus, Australian) use the traditional definition.

Great question.

Pansexualism includes gender identities, such as trans people, non-binary, gender fluid, etc. I always say the heart wants what it wants (within the law, so definitely don’t include peds).
