Phobia is anxiety which comes from ignorance of something you do not understand. The fear of them existing isn't the same as being fearful of your life. Homophobes aren't scared of homosexuals but fear their existence is wrong, hence why many of them have been assaulted, stripped of their rights or executed.
 
Phobia is often misconstrued with..you guessed it, arachnophobia. There's differences in phobias. Some are based on people being scared, anxiety doesn't always mean you're scared but uncomfortable.

Muslim countries have gay people and homophobes, so does Alabama, Texas, Florida and every other State that's been left in the dark ages in terms of updated social norms and education. Which one of those States are you from?

Are you aware the Tavistock centre in the UK was forced to shut down because of the harm it was doing to children? You should look into that

I'm not american.The point is being gay, transgender is legal in western countries and that includes the usa. It's ILLEGAL in Muslim countries and yet many lgbt people just ignore that fact, instead of speaking out against the fact it's illegal in Muslim countries they pretend it's a living hell to be lgbt in western countries, the usa.They are desperately clinging to the past because they USED to be oppressed, persecuted against. Victimhood is fundamental to them and they have now become the persecutors hence cancel culture. Equality does not mean one group of people having something another group of people don't have. I see no straight pride flags, no straight pride month.its double standards
