Female UM?

I made a point in another thread that sometimes, people prefer speaking to a particular gender in regards to issues.

Could we consider getting a female UM for this reason?

A woman reporting sexual harassment might not want to deal with a male, for example. On the other foot, a male might not want to speak to a female... or maybe he does want to speak to a female over more sensitive issues that wouldn't be deemed masculine or something. It could also help to have someone see something from another viewpoint.

Not disregarding current UMs (Well, not the majority of them) being approachable or anything. Just think it might be a nice idea to have both a female and a male in a UM position for moments where this might be the case?

Thoughts?

oh it was you? yes thats right- and I deny ever egging him on to battle the trauma of being called an ice cream cone its cruel to call anyone that.

Might melt them.

edit: no cat UM since 2016 that I can find either
no. it was him who went after i and kim 1st. he was then told he had several opportunities to change and yet he continued to abuse his button till the point he was canned. after he read the replies he self deleted.

False.

Hudson is male
12valve is male
Krass is male.
(Unsure if Tyson was ever a um, but if he was he’s male)
J is male.

They were UM’s at least upto and including 2021 so your chronology is wrong.
Negatron used to be a UM too I think, he is male, not sure anyone remembers him, though. We need a female UM to smash the patriarchy.

Btw @Louize i think it’s a good idea BUT if they have the personality of that dipshit FORMER UM CHELLE THEN NO THANKS. (I could say alot more explicit words to describe her but shall refrain.)

You completely missed the point. As per.

I'm not saying hire any female. Hire a suitable female. See my comment toward HR about her following actual rules.

your lucky i don't have the coin to get a lawyer🤓

I remember a drama when I was new(er) and my chat skin was more like ricepaper athetime - I tried to get help when getting roasted alive in either EE which was after icecreamcone attacks.

I think Claire feasted on him in EE (but I might be wrong) so he was indeed savaged poor chap.

edit: was wrong re who etc

I think Claire feasted on him in EE as well. (but I might be wrong) so he was indeed savaged poor chap.
ahhh but he brought it upon himself by making the thread instead of keeping it in mod forums...

he was pissed he follow the wrong advice.... something some of these people will be kicking their ownself for soon.

“Her” she used in the context of the successful female mod following rules.

Nice try

10k paycheque I say. Isnt that the UK deal now? (sentence structure favours me.)

In general, candidates should first be assessed based on their ability to perform the responsibilities of the position, not based on gender, race, etc.

Once a candidate has met that first criteria then you can start looking at other factors that might benefit a particular team, such as gender, race, etc.

Other factors can include people who:
  • Can be trusted by the owners
  • Are mature
  • Are loyal to and value the site
  • Treat others with respect and common decency
  • Work as a team to better the staff and site.
  • Use calm and wise decision making
but what are you voting on, ultimately?
