i did that and it sill doesnt let me.
also it seems when logged out i can but when logged in i cant..
and i cant see "members" thingy at the top and "staff online" and a few more things when logged into the forums but when logged out i can.

and more staff i asked in Discord are also getting the same thing.

I mean @laura1992 you said you can edit right? And oop now yall r gonna see all my terrible typin mistakes I make and click send. I used to edit if I messed up :/
 
yea that would be the one con of this update for me as literally misspell everything and usually add stuff i forgot in but oh well. everything else is good tho. 👍
 
go to a normal forum.. teens kids general and on the mobile version it will be down below your post next to the report button.. there will be the 3 dots with a down arrow. click there choose edit.

cm has restricted posting permissions for most in the announcement and are you new forums. it dates back to these 2 forums being used for spam attacks.
 
FEEDBACK: kids & teens need to either A) be grouped together with their header explaining the age restriction or B) have their forum titles edited to reflect the age restrictions. no ones going to hoover over the forum title to read the hidden descriptions.

The same would have to apply to Adult forum. Kick & Ban forum name needs to looked at as well.

I have seen those screenshots that looked like a dark theme, am I missing something because I cannot figure if there is a dark theme option or not, and if there is where is it?

there are no dots on desktop. however it is at the bottom left of your post ... in a normal forum... they will not appear in announcement forum ( including this thread we are posting in) or are you new forum as those two forums have restrictive posting permissions.

I even made a comment in the "kick-ban-inquiries-and-mod-complaints" forum and still see no dots so idk. And I guess we're back to having to ask for help if we need to change a rule or add a rule to the rules or if we need to open or close moderator applications because I no longer see a way to administrate those.
 
you cannot edit content in the announcement forum. it was restricted a while back to curb a spammer. try going to a regular forum like general, food, or music. make a post and look at the bottom of your post. edit button will be to the bottom left next to a report(previously flag) button.

to pm you need to go to the envelope up top click it. you will find a short list of recent messages if you have none then click start conversation.

Thank you PR. In regular forums, I still have no edit options. I looked I have a report option but no three dots beside it. only ones are up top with *spoiler, insert table* etc.

Ill send a note to cm. I suppose in the meantime, I could create a post up in conversations , edit it there and then post? 😵 but once I do have no way to fix my typical mistakes and needed revisions.

the 3 dots only appear on mobile version. the edit is permanently there next to report on desktop . also in the reply box there is the save icon that allows you to save your post as draft and come back to it later. or there is the preview next to it . it allows you to re read before you send it out.

It's already better than what we had, keep going, possibility of finding better than b4 never ends.

When will viewing member's past posts be fixed? Still getting that error. Kind of annoying if you can't see them and only a small fraction of them.

Not necessarily as the forums get purged after so long. Despite my post count, I can’t see anything prehistoric. 🤣

Couldn’t figure how to edit as I’m browsing via mobile, but in all honesty, would anyone like to see older messages? I just read a PM between myself and another former Admin and not gonna lie, I cringed. 👀😂

Think Administrator, Chatmaster and the Forums Admin would have access. But I do know from past experience on this site if a thread etc got too many posts, they would be closed, culled and informed to start a new one. Not sure how it works, but that would be my best guess. 👍

Interesting. I’m guessing that’s with the old system?

If they still delete threads, each member who commented on it will also see a decrease in messages, and reactions if there were any

I mean a lesser count of own messages. Usually shown on the profile, or in the member list

I’m a bit confused now since you mentioned members seeing a decrease in messages: do you mean personal messages or comments in past topics on the relevant sub forums?

I’m unsure of what happens now with the cull factor. So I’m assuming you mean the public threads. It would be a decrease in posts, yes, but messages? Unless the forum has a system in place to remove x amount of posts from x many years ago to save bandwidth etc. again, I couldn’t be sure.

The only thread I can see I started was when I was Advice Forums Mod and did the thread from 2010/11 lol so when every thread has reached its capacity, I imagine CM decides (as I’ve seen him close threads) on the best interest for website.

I’d put that down to privacy if they did. PM’s are there for a reason; don’t disclose anything in public forum as people will use it against you. Trust me I was 15 when I joined. 32 now 😏
 
What I’m saying is that if a thread or message is removed, it’ll be reflected in the message, reaction score and point stats displayed on your or others profiles. Not about PMs or profile messages
 
CM will the members get something under their names like before we had the stars etc are the members going to get a member bar or something it looks so plain in my opinion.
