So out of curiosity how do people feel about ADHD and autism? Would you treat them differently bc they're different or would you treat them normal? I hope bullying won't come to anyone's mind.

It bothers me when people use medical conditions as excuses for their behavior. If you're dumb or annoying just admit it don't use a medical condition as an excuse to get away with your lack of intelligence or respect.

Well here is a statement that grinds my gears:
"The serial killer shot up the school because he has Asperger's Syndrome" or "He was diagnosed with Asperger's, so he decided to go to the tourist attraction and kill as many people as possible"
I have been hearing that bullsh!t from the media for decades. Where is the proof? Do all people with Asperger's or ASD want to kill people? Where are the facts? Where are the peer reviewed articles?
Oh, it is just the media finding a scapegoat to find out the why in the events that occurred. Now wonder Autism Spectrum Disorder is now a term, and only then just wait until the media bashes that term to the ground.

School shootings and serial killings are two different things but you're right. Oddly enough, both are often committed by unstable people who don't have autism and are just psychopaths.
I was shocked that the media actually brought up the Sandy Hook shooter having autism. I thought we moved past that.
As for the term changing, I have no problem with that. Asperges was a Nazi sympathizer who ran a school for autistic kids and ended up euthanizing over 700 autistic kids, many of them no older than 5. So would you want to own up to living with a condition named after Hans Asperger who killed people for having your condition?
Alot of people treat them differently .. there reason is its their disability so they should be. But their "different ability" is amazing! sure some are so far into the spectrum that their quality of life or intellect is severely impaired, but all "disabilities" should be embraced. They should not be treated any different, rather given as much opportunity to excel and explore life as we all do
People's feelings about autism vary, but many are becoming more understanding and accepting. Some may still hold misconceptions or stigmas, but education and awareness are helping to promote a more inclusive and supportive environment for individuals with autism.
