Is sexuality a suitable subject for children?

Howdy folks.

As some of you may be aware, people are trying to push for sexuality to be a subject in kindergarten and whatever the American equivalent of primary school is.

Some teachers have already started teaching "LGBTQIA" curriculum.
This is in place of teaching other more important lessons.
Of course this is mostly in America and I don't believe it has happened in my country yet. Hopefully it stays away from my local schools.

Do you believe that sexuality is suitable for children to learn?
If so, how much should they be allowed to know?

Giving yourself away there Bread. Kindergarten is as British as McDonalds
I am in the UK and we don't call it kindergarten.
We call it 'nursery' - and I have no clue what the school version of primary is called.

I know that College is the American high school. Other than that, no clue.

Edit:
Stop making false claims that I am someone else.
Otherwise I will make a complaint about you.

Why is a British teenager interested in American kids under 11?

Is it bad to care about the safety of children?
American kids are already failing school and unable to read or write.
Teachers have been saying that kids read and write 2 grades lower.

As for American politics, I am rather interested.
Not only because it sets an example for every other country like The UK.
But also because UK politics is more racial than gender political.
Not my type of politics.

^^ @Ness_eb @H.R. PufnStuf I know he’s probably on a VPN but surely to God there’s enough to show that this is Bread evading his ban

You literally have no proof what so ever.
Second of all, even checking my IP will prove I am not on a VPN.
I am on a home ISP in a country that this Bread guy probaby doesnt even know exist - so I am not worried at all.

Keep making false allegations and I will just make a formal complaint.
Second of all, be careful before you throw around predatory allegations.
Those are serious accusations to make on people.

🙂

I’m gonna add to this, if the OP is a British teen as he claims, he’d have been taught about sexuality at school.

He’d also know that issues surrounding sexuality are taught in English Primary Schools (he didn’t know that) ….

I have finished school.
The closest we came to sexuality was just sex ed.
I am sure England and their schools teach that goofy stuff.

But in Wales, our Welsh schools focus more on Welsh history.
As far as I am aware, they aren't teaching gender politics there.
Just the basic sex ed and how to have safe sex.

In Wales they have comprehensive RSE policy that covers school life from beginning to end.

I don't think anyone is pushing for Kindergarteners to have Sex Ed...

But it is important for young people to learn sex ed and safety shortly before puberty age.

How effective was the evangelical/Catholic strategy of saying "Don't have sex until marriage" and teaching nothing else? Not at all lol.

I am just going to assume you are not caught up.
But there are people, who call themselves LGBTQIA, who are attempting to put books in kindergarten that involve sexual acts, sexuality and gender politics. Some teachers are even teaching them a "lgbt curriculum" without the knowledge of parents.

There is also the controversial Drag Queen Story Hour.

THis is one of the many reasons why I dislike their community.

I don't think anything beyond the scope of "gay people exist and that's okay" should be taught at that age. Kids need time to figure themselves out. I don't think anything close to a majority of the LGBTQ+ community wants graphic sex to be shown to children as you're implying though.

It is frightening how many of them actually support it.
They even go through protests and chant
"We're here, we're queer. We're coming for your children."

To answer the original question, yes of course why not?

In Scotland we start learning Relationships Sexual Health and Parenthood (RSHP) from the age of 8 (P2) and on up to age 17 (S6). It's a healthy approach.

Can you please describe what LGBTQIA+ curriculum is? It sounds a bit like you're upset that some children's books have characters with two mommies, two daddies, etc. and I would like to better understand what precisely you're upset about.

There is also the controversial Drag Queen Story Hour.
Can you please describe what your issue is with drag queens reading stories to children?
