I didnt see a thread like this so I thought it might be interesting to share some details on how you care for your pets
bathing, training, socializing etc
This might be good for people that are getting their first pet or are not sure what kind of pet to get.
some pets need more care and attention then others

Please discuss 😱

TBH The pets I've had are cats. Karl wants a dog but my brother had a dog I find them to be smelly, a nuisance and too dependent it's like having another man around. Sorry guys no offense. Did have one problem a few weeks back when my two year old was trying to stuff the cat's tail up her nose. Good thing she's so docile though a real cat would have scratched him.

Dogs are only smelly if stupid owners don't look after them properly.

My dog is a pampered pooch and I bet his arsehole smells sweeter than some of you scroats in here.

i have now 6 dogs... they get bathed once a week, their dog run is cleaned daily, they;re all neutered/spayed and they go to the vet to get thier shots and teeth cleaned... we have 5 cats.. the litter boxes are cleaned daily.. they groom themselves and sometimes each other..they are also all spayed/neutered...
the parakeet's cage is cleaned daily...water and food is changed also... the animals are the boys chores .. although i seem to be stuck cleaning the turtle tank once a week... hmmm

Ooooo, good idea, Jenna.

I recently got a Dalmatian and his name is Oreo. He's going to be 7 months old on the 22nd of this month and I've had him for approximately 5 months now. He is the biggest troublemaker ever, but he's slowly learning..he's just really stubborn. He still pounces on people, bites their fingers/hands, bites anything he can get his mouth on really. Meh, he's still a puppy, pretty sure when they're months old in "human years", it's the teenage years so I get it. I wasn't exactly the greatest teen on earth. 😱

I also have 2 other small ones. Brownie's a 8 year old chihuahua and Dodger is a 3 year old chihuahua mix. They behave quite well, so no complaints there.

The little ones are taken to groomers, so they come back all pampered, but I bathe Oreo myself as well and none of them smell, otherwise they'd be banned from the house. lmao. If you have an indoor dog, chances are they're going to need their nails trimmed, because outside the concrete does it for the dog naturally. Smaller dogs also need to go to the vet/groomers to get their anal sacs expressed. Anal sacs are basically these small glands near their anus region. Larger dogs tend to express them naturally, but for some reason smaller dogs are prone to getting infections if they aren't expressed regularly. They can even rupture. I think the biggest hint is when the dog is scooting its behind on the floor. It's either anal sacs or it has worms.

Food!
My vet has this list of dog foods to avoid, if possible. The one to avoid the most is Pedigree. He said it's the equivalent of eating burgers and fries everyday.

Others include: Beneful, Purina, Alpo, Bil Jac, Eukanuba, Iams, etc. If you could find the dog food at your local store like Vons, Ralphs, etc. chances are it's not the best food for your dog. These tend to be super fatty and contain byproducts (which is basically the leftover of say chicken, the stuff they do not feed to humans) and tons of potatoes/corn.

I personally feed my dogs Wellness and Blue Buffalo, although they may not be for every dog, because some get diarrhea, etc. Mine have never had a problem with it though. Other brands that are better than Pedigree and such are: Innova Evo, Blue Buffalo, Wellness, Natural Balance.

Ultimately though, it's a test. You're probably going to have to try a couple, because what may be good for one dog, may not be good for another and who knows, Pedigree might work for your dog. What you do want to look for in dog food is: barley, brown rice, millet, bananas, cranberries, carrots, etc.

I have 4 dogs. The three big dogs (Aussie Shephards) get bathed once a fortnight (they live outside) and our small dog (Pappion) gets bathed once a week cause she's an indoor dog.

We feed our dogs with fresh kangaroo meat and dog knobs. Not canned supermarket crap for our dogs. Belle eats a chicken mix cause she has no teeth.

I also have a cat. His bowl get cleaned whenever there is a mess in it. We feed him canned supermarket cat food.

Serious question for once:

I still live with my parents (yes, I am a bum) and have been trying to convince them to purchase a canine for some time now. Well it seems like my incessant blabbering has finally paid off; just the other day they told me that we might be getting a dog. Win, right?

Wrong. They want a Yorkshire Terrier. My question is this: Is a Yorkie too cutesy for a dude to walk out in public without looking too homo-effeminate?

Itzy bitzy dogs are so boring and irritating. You must not get a Yorkie! Convince them to get a Doberman... Big mofo'.

Eff that. ROTTWEILER! 😀

rottweiler.jpg

He is biased cos he owns a Doberman, DO NOT LISTEN. *hinthint* get a Dal! 😱

There are TONS of breeds, if your parents are set on getting a small breed. There's also medium-ish sized dogs like Jack Russel Terriers that don't get that big. You also have to think about their activity level, otherwise if you're a bum and your new dog is energetic, he'll drive you nuts.

Chester, I'm not inactive, just a domestically lazy volcano. I'd walk that dog like a mofo. I would tire a little dog out (I realise how wrong that sounds).

I've just got a German Shepard puppy called Bear, because he's literally a black, walking ball of fluff. He's only 7 weeks old, imported from South Africa (I thought it was 8 weeks they could be taken off their mothers)? When we bought him a few days ago we didn't realise he was sick so we've taken him to the (african :| ) vet and they're treating him. We get to bring him home either tomorrow or the next day if he recovers (which he should). I'll post a picture when he comes home.

Anyway! This is the first time I've owned a dog so I need to know if there's any kind of foods that I should avoid giving him? I hear certain human foods aren't good..

You really shouldn't give him table food, especially so young. When he's older of course you can boil him chicken, but do not add salt or any spices or the likes. That intake, of course, has to be limited.

My Oreo just stopped teething not too long ago, but when he was teething, I'd give him a carrot which is totally healthy for him. So when your little Bear gets older, you might wanna try that. Hopefully he won't be a bitch like Oreo. 🙁 He bit anything and anyone lol.

As for foods to absolutely avoid: chocolate, peanuts, grapes, coffee, caffeine, onions/garlic, milk, salt, raw meats, raw eggs, raisins.

All I can think of at the moment. The effects of each differ. Think it's grapes that may cause kidney failure. Others can cause diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy, hypoglycemia, etc. Might also wanna be careful when it comes to him being out because certain plants are also toxic. Oreo loves to chew on my mom's plants. :disgust: Luckily, we don't have any plants that are poisonous to dogs about.

LASTLY, I know it may seem overwhelming, but it gets easier along the way! Can't wait to see photos of him btw. 😛

I remember when my little brother fed my dog Nutella. We had to take him to the veterinarian right away to clean up his stomach.
Sometimes I feed my dog bread which isn't all too bad.

Raw chicken wings are fine to feed dogs and cats. Charcoal biscuits are great to help clean teeth and it also neutralises gas.

DO NOT FEED YOU DOG OR CAT PORK OR ANYTHING FROM THE ANIMAL PIG!!!!

Wonderful! I'll take a look at those.

I went to see him today and I'm pleased to say he's getting better. He's stopped vomiting and he's finally eating again. They want to keep him in for a few more days though to continue his antibiotics and to ensure he gets his rest. I just want him home but I'd rather him stay and not relapse. <3

Pig ears sound rather nasty, just sayin' o.o

So.. I have two cats. One of these cats hates me. He runs at the sight of me, no joke.
Do you think there's a way to make this cat not hate my guts? D:

Why would you give your dog raw chicken? Chicken has the most bacteria, like ever. From what I heard, it's always meant to be boiled. It's the same with raw meats- they get bacterial infections like worms. 😎

And you're not meant to bathe your dog ALL the time. Dogs have coats that have natural oils, so they're meant to be bathed every month or so, but not all the damn time.

My aunt was a dog breeder. I know a few things about caring for dogs. Cooked chicken bones can shatter and cause cuts throughout the dogs digestive system. Uncooked bones however do not, it is safer. My dogs have been eating raw meat all their lives and they are fine.

Also I forgot about pigs ears. It's weird that they are fine for dogs to eat but any other part isn't. :dontknow:

And so do I. Who said anything about chicken bones? I don't feed my dogs chicken bones. I guess I should've made it more clear. One is meant to boil the chicken then take off the meat when it's done and dispose of the bones. Chicken bones, in general, can ruputure their digestive system.

I bath my dog once a month right before I give her flea and tick meds
I have to brush her every day hell I could do it 24/7 she sheds so much lol
I brush her teeth once a week and in the mean time she gets chew toys specifically to clean her teeth.

I feed her beneful healthy harvest
I do not used canned dog food < to many recalls
I make my own food for her
boiled chicken or steak, peas, barley or boiled potatoes

To keep her healthy we walk twice a day for at least a half hour each time
and of course she loves the ball and frisbee she just doesnt like bringing them back to you

over all shes very friendly with everyone
much like a kid she loves attention and will do anything to get it lol
only 2 people she really doesnt like and when she sees them she wants to eat their faces off but hey I feel the same way about them 😀

and you should never give dogs raw meat
they could get really sick not to mention worms
which they have to poison your dog just to get rid of them

owned like 4589034850349 dogs over the years, next im looking to get a wolf puppy next. had a hybrid before and a purebred(gray wolf)

also trying to convince my girlfriend to let me get another emperor scorpion but for some reason she's against it.

I had a dog. His name was Dano, and was a dalmatian but he died. It was probaly the longest darn lived dalmatian ever lived! Anyways after that we'd gotten a trained pomeranian and trained her for beauty contests. Won a lot, and guess whos second place dog was named? DANO!! Wht coincedence, right? But I love dogs!!! Cats im semi-allergic to, and i absolutely hate ANYTHING that crawls.

Since no one seems to actually have pointed out why you shouldn't give your pets food from a shelf at your local supermarket...

Cat and Dog biccies as well as canned/packet meats on the shelf and even those little cold meats in the frozen section

They are cheap, they're appealing, right? Of course.
Well, the reason they are so cheap is because they are NOT consistent.
The actual ingredients in the foods differ depending on what is in season.
i.e carrot might be cheap in September so they don't use celery or chicken might be expensive so they replace it with beef.

It's not that big of a deal but most animals do have some sort of intolerance to some foods and you usually won't find that out until you've already given your dog this food.

I mix Whiskers biccis with some Royal Canin. Royal Canin is great but expensive and will make the cat put on weight if they have too much.

It's fine to give your cat or dog some supermarket food every now and then, just like it's fine for us to eat McDonalds every now and then. Moderation is the key.

Balance your pet's diet, don't just feed it all the good stuff because 1. you might not be able to afford it one week 2. your animal may get sick of the food and then were do you go? and 3. Diet is only part of your pet's health.

This, this, this. Responsible pet owner right here.

Also, I think the real reason store-brand food is "bad" is because it contains byproducts, which basically means it's the leftover stuff/waste companies will not feed to humans. So, for example, a chicken byproduct would be the beak, the feet, the neck, etc. Some people have no problem feeding their pets that, or they simply don't know. Another reason is because it contains a lot of corn. Any intelligent vet will tell you that corn is difficult for dogs to digest, so if you're considering buying a new brand, read the ingredients so that you know it was no corn, or minimal corn. It's just ironic that some vets recommend a brand entitled, "Science Diet", because it contains a lot of corn. I'd personally stay away from it.

@ Sarah: Yeaaaaaaaah! Dals. :heartbeat How long did yours live till? My Spottie Dottie only lived till he was 12, because he developed cardiomegaly (enlargement of the heart).

There is a huge debate on whether or not to feed dogs raw foods. Some people do some people don't. I do they were raised to eat raw meat. We mix it with a small cup full of dry food and a spoonful of yoghurt. And every now and then they get a chicken wing or neck.

The wild dogs from which out domestic dogs where descendent didn't catch a rabbit and cook it.... they just ate it raw. It's natural. It's true what Jenna said dogs don't digest corn and grains well. Meat based foods are much better than grain based foods.

.

I had my dog on science diet then Iams
but they did so many recalls on the canned items I asked my vet what is the most natural thing I could give to her thats why I went with beneful

I haven't tried Beneful, but I have heard decent things about it.

One of my dogs is having a massive shedding problem right now and a flea problem. I used some spray on him earlier and then brushed him. The spray killed the fleas, but it smelled horrendous and I don't want anything too harsh on his skin. He stopped nibbling at his skin, which is good but does anyone know of anything else that could work? I don't want anything too harsh on his skin or that smells too bad, especially since he's tiny.

Edit: Anyone have any experience with K9 Advantix? I have a $5 off coupon, so I may resort to using that.

I use frontline spray and also bathe animals in dishwashing liquid (sounds crazy I know but it kills the fleas and it is gentle on their skin)
We have always run a warm bath and rub them down as much as possible, it really helps get the pet clean, gives them a nice little smell and kills the fleas asap.
(for both cats and dogs)

ps find one of the natural ones, we use specifically: Morning Fresh Sensitive with Aloe

Beneful's line of 'Healthy Harvest' I think it's called is decent. I didn't say the best, I said decent. It does contain corn though, but most premium dog foods do as well. Iams is also on that list, but I used to feed my dogs Iams and they're still alive and kicking.

I also said this:

Yeah, it'd have to be a natural one, otherwise it'd throw off the pH balance of their coat/skin. I usually use oatmeal shampoo on them, because it helps with itchiness and their seasonal skin allergies.

Oatmeal is good for humans too 😛

Pavlov!

Pavlov!

If your pet is afraid of thunder give them a treat every time there is a rumble or crack and then they will see the thunder as a good thing! Has worked flawlessly with all of my pets!

I use frontline plus on my dog and my cat and have never had a problem with fleas since. My dog shed loads ...he is an alaskan malamute weighs in at 56gk he has 2 coats & sheds all year round and once a year completely sheds his under coat, thankfully he enjoys being brushed cause i could stuff a matress with the amount of fur that comes off him in clumps !!!!!

We feed out Puggle Beneful (Healthy Harvest).

She gets treats twice a day. Two Begging Strips in the am and 4 Milk Bones around 6pm..

We use Frontline Plus and she has never had fleas.

Hubby uses Olay Body Wash when he bathes her.

She has real short hair but sheds a lot.

She's a very pampered pooch.

wow lots of differing opinions

i had great danes they live till they were 13 the breeders back then reckon 7 was the average age

wow they ate human chocolate omg

they ate raw meat omg

they drank milk

my other little dog that lived till 13 ate chocolate

he ate raw meat

he drank milk

he loved drinking coffee

vets try to push their own brands onto people

you can wash your dog in *eucalyptus wool wash* the stuff you use for clothes

fleas dont like eucalyptus .

leaves them soft and fluffy too

and of course you have to treat where the animal sleeps as well.

derrrrrrrrrrr

yes they have dried pigs ears for dogs to chew on

good for teething

my great dane was a puppy till he was at least two he used the corner of my dishwasher as a chew toy

I had a three legged cattle dog until he was 18 😛 He ate chocolate, drank coke, ate potato chips and hated dog food. He was the (physically) healthiest little shit too.
People worry too much.

who was it that said about worms in raw dog meat , and the treatment can kill

they are normal worms and worm tablets kill them

humans with pets need to have worm tablets too

its HEARTWORM that can kill a dog and if they have it treatment can kill sometimes

heartworm is from mosquitoes 🙄

That's old. o_o

Yep 😛 We took him for a walk every day, he went for a run every weekend and always had plenty of water.
I guess it also depends on the individual.

My Grandma had a Poodle for 15 years.. The poodle and I shared SO many chocolates every weekend when I was there.

Then she had a King Charles Cavalier that she gave all the right food to, did basically everything that "professionals" said to do and bam, died at 8.

Next dog I get, you're gonna give me a list of how the 18 year old dog was treated, in perfect detail. 😱

.

.

its good to know yall know how take good care of pets. please adopt me, i will be the best boy pet you ever had, i can even do the puppy dog eyes :reallysad: pick me please :reallysad:

Some of you really shouldn't own pets and this is me being as kind as possible.

why because we fed them what others say they shouldnt eat?

they lived a long time. and they were well treated and loved. who are

you to presume otherwise.?

dogs before humans had them as pets lived on a diet of raw meat.

our dogs all loved having milk. the vet encouraged it for our great danes,

we used to make them calcium milkshakes for their bones. as they grow so

fast.

buttttttttttttt you know everything hey chelle 🙄 you are a mod so you

must 🙄

vets and animal product companies dont want you giving human stuff

so they have a market for their own products.

my dane ate a whole packet of those mini easter eggs once , he found

them , didnt know he was eating them. but nothing i could do anyway

closet vet was 1 1/2 hours away by plane. and planes only a couple of

times a week.

like i said average years for danes were 7 he lived to 13

Any ideas on better socializing dogs? I got an English bulldog today and my roommates pit bull doesn't think of him as his best friend. They were doing fine at the park but now that they're at home, the pit bull nips at him. I know it's a territorial thing. They eat from seperate bowls and have their own toys as well.

Did I mention names? No. You're not feeding them anything TOO bad, certainly not chips or soda (both of which aren't good for humans so imagine with CANINES, good lord). You also don't purposely feed them chocolate, you said they got into the bag and you didn't know.

Right there, the bold bit..well, I have to disagree with you. Before they weren't pets. In fact, they weren't even domesticated! They're descendents of wolves, who yes, eat raw meats. Dogs were domesticated some 14,000 years ago or something, so obviously a lot has changed, both genetically and physically.

Diet plays a role in how long a dog will live, sure, but I'd like to think genetics play a larger role. Think it was Laurenn who said a King Charles Cavalier was fed all the "right" things. That breed, in general, has a lot of genetic problems. Their average lifespan is something like 9-13 years so it's expected.

Also, my knowledge about dogs has nothing to do with being a mod. I don't claim to know everything, but I'd like to think I certainly know more than the average person. I've grown up around dogs my whole life, I read dog books, I watch dog documentaries. I'm a nerd.
--
Adam, congrats! I know how long you've wanted one for lmao. Is it a puppy or an adult dog? If it's a puppy, you can definitely try puppy training classes. If it's an adult, you can probably try doggie daycare, but they'll let you know if your dog is really aggressive or not. I'm positive some doggie daycares also offer adult training classes. Dog parks as well! You just have to introduce him to new people, new places, new things and new dogs so he doesn't become afraid of new things and then becomes aggressive.

I adopted Dodger when he was one and we already had Brownie, who was five. At first Brownie hated him, but now they definitely tolerate each other. They sleep together, run around together, but they do have their occasional fights, which is normal considering Dodger thinks he's the alpha male and Brownie is a brat so eh.

Also, my knowledge about dogs has nothing to do with being a mod. I don't claim to know everything, but I'd like to think I certainly know more than the average person. I've grown up around dogs my whole life, I read dog books, I watch dog documentaries. I'm a nerd.

They sleep together, run around together, but they do have their occasional fights, which is normal considering Dodger thinks he's the alpha male and Brownie is a brat so eh.

so like i said . they used to eat raw meat when they were in the wilds.

my dog got into the chocolate without me knowing

but i used to give dogs chocolate it never hurt them

wasnt a daily treat.

people say dont give cats milk one cat i had wouldnt touch it another thats all it would drink

🙄

"Human stuff" can be VERY poisonous for Dogs. That's a fact. 'Animal product companies' make healthy food, specifically designed for their diet as the "human" food is nothing but absolute garbage these days - containing all kind of unnatural, poisonous stuff.
--------
And who the **** gives its dog Coffee & Coca Cola?? That **** is toxic. Granted, in large quantities, but still. Why? :| In the end of day, they're dogs and we're humans; there are stuff that they simply cannot digest probably... And really, shouldn't.

****ing Americans, seriously... If you were in Sweden, and would've said that you deliberately give your dog Coffee, Coke, Chips, etc. You would no doubt lose your dog, as the Government can legally "adopt" it if you can't take care of it properly.

like i said my dog lived till it was 13 and it loved to have iced coffee

it wasnt all the time

and look at people commenting when they shove maccas and kfc down their own throats

ohhhhhhhhhh and companies know about products that are best for animals

a dry dog food over here makes a lot of dogs break out in a rash

they itch and scratch loose their fur

wow thats healthy dog food hey 🙄

And that's a Great Dane, right? What happened to her/him? Great Danes are in great need of to have very specific diet in order to live longer, or so I've heard. I used to have a neighbor who had a Great Dane that was 16 years old. She moved out not too long ago, so I don't know if it's still alive.

I give my Doberman Pedigree, and it's working great. His fur is perfect, and so he, overall.

And what? Maccass & KFC? That's equivalent to McDonalds, right? Well, we don't have that here... Yet.

great danes died of old age

i had a terrier cross as well it loved milk and iced coffee had raw meat twice a week it live till 13

it ate human chocolate

Any ideas on better socializing dogs? I got an English bulldog today and my roommates pit bull doesn't think of him as his best friend. They were doing fine at the park but now that they're at home, the pit bull nips at him. I know it's a territorial thing. They eat from seperate bowls and have their own toys as well.

Do you have any good dog parks around? They just opened a park here in San Antonio last year that has an awesome 2acre dog park, it's great there's a section for everyone and a section for little dogs. At the time I just had my little Shih Tzu...he's very well socialized because I took him to work with me every day for the first 8 months of his life. I also brought him to band practice, so he loves music, doesn't get scared when we rock out, he LOVES people, kids and animals...it was funny watching all the big dogs run up on him and sniff him the first time we went. I just got a Rottweiler puppy, he's going to be 5months old next week. He's a little different, it's hard for me to remember he's just a baby because he's sooo big! He's about 50-55lbs, his parents were 140 (mom) and 150 (dad) so he's going to be a beast! I also have two cats (both girls) ...my boys get along great with them! Rasta (the Rottie) is going through his teething stage, so we give him pig ears and raw hides to chew on...I give both my boys Beggin' Strips when they go out and are "good boys", I split one for the two of them, and when they're extra good they each get a full one. I feed the Nature's Choice, Rasta is on the large breed puppy formula with lamb, and Irie (shih tzu) is on Nature's Choice for small breeds. I am having a terrible time with fleas right now. I'm in San Antonio TX and I live on an acre, the boys are trained to go outside and we let them out all through out the day. I've sprayed them, bathed them, did the flea drops and collars, and can't fight them off completely....both boys do dig and bite their skin, Irie is the worst, I've had to put a cone on him because he breaks skin and doesn't stop. I have an aloe spray for their dry skin, I can only give them a bath every 2-3 weeks or so because their skin is sensitive..I have heard the dish soap thing works but I've not tried it yet...I did use eucalyptus oil on their coats because fleas hate it! I've also used mayo before, it's weird...it works well on my cat...the fleas pop up to the top, I heard it suffocates them or something...I tried on Rasta, but it was not as effective as I remember it being. As far as my girls, they get the Indoor Formula Friskies...sometimes I switch up to the Grill Sensations. I use the Yesterday's News litter, and clean out the box every day. My boys and I walk twice a day, once in the morning and once at night...it's too hot to do it when I come home from work now, so I wait until the sun goes down and they LOVE it! I also have puppy play dates with my friends, I have a huge backyard so we grill, hang out and everyone brings their dogs and they all get along rather well...any suggestions on other flea treatments or skin supplies I could use would be great! As far as grooming, I take Irie every month to get his little cut and groom...ears, teeth, all that...and my boys always smell like vanilla milk and honey...yes..I do buy the puppy perfume, lol... 🙂

How old are both dogs?

If the pit bull is older hes showing his dominance
which if your dog is younger the expectation is that your dog should cower to the older dog

are they both fixed?
and when does the pit seem to nip at your dog?

i have a...cat question. my persian is 10 weeks old and since persian hair is so fluffy and long when she poops she gets bits of it stuck in her fur. ofc i cut it out but should i just shave her behind every month to help prevent it in the first place? lol
would that traumatize her?

Do you groom her yourself or do you bring her somewhere?
When I was being trained in grooming we were told to use a small scissors to keep the hair around the anal area as short as possible and to advise the owners to clean that area up every 2 - 3 weeks.

The pit is about three years old and my bulldog is a little over one year. The pit only really nips and bites when they get too close to eachother. Dozer, being a bulldog, doesn't really seem to give a ****. He's only bitten back once. And only the pit bull is fixed.

I have 3 dogs 2 minature horses 30 gallon fish tank a pacman frog a crestecd gecko and a Eastern king snake still a baby. The reptiles have special needs they have to have heat and thier food is not like dog food my snake eats pinky mice and my froh eats crickets and mice. The crested gecko eats baby food fruit and once a week eats crickets. Reptiles are really awesome to have I would say a pet snake corn snake or king snake would be great for frist time pepole that have never had a reptile befor. 🙂

Its def a dominance issue
the older dog is trying to show your dog that hes not to be screwed with in his own home so its like bow down bitch.
This could be a serious situation
Try walking them together on a short leash
dont stop dont let them stop just keep walking them side by side
hopefully that will build trust between the dogs

Im having a hard time with giving advice on this one because of the breed (pit) and because I dont know how your room mate has socialized his dog with other dogs
I think your dog not being fixed could be part of the problem where the pit is fixed.

right now its not that big of an issue but if ya'll leave the dogs alone one day it could be a major issue.
I would talk with your vet or even send an email to the ceasar milan or another dog trainer.

I'd like to try that, but my roommate is being a retard and won't go pick his dog up. I've received a lot of different advice from people, but everyone has said to take them for walks.

Snoop (the pit) is usually pretty good around smaller dogs. He was raised with a Jack Russel, but he's never really been around dogs bigger than him. I talked to the vet yesterday and she told me to try rewarding and giving Snoop a little more attention to make him think that when my dog is around, he gets rewarded, just not rewarded for bad behavior.

Im glad you asked your vet
rewards dont always have to be treats
praising them highly is also very affective too
I wish you luck my friend

yeah, i clean her eyes 3 times/day, comb her fur once/day, etc. i was thinking about getting her a lion cut...lol. her fur back there is shorter now cause i trimmed it a bit without much fuss from crookshanks.
thank you!

My cousin had her Persian almost entirely shaved every few months, so he looked like a cat poodle looking thing. He was totally cool with it.

They aren't really known for speaking, but it is possible to teach them to. It'll just require more time/effort than say with an amazon parrot, etc.

Their coloring is amazing btw. I'm jealous. I miss having a bird. 🙁 I used to have a red-lored amazon parrot that spoke, but he passed away. When he was around, he'd never shut up, but now the house is quiet aside from the barking dogs, but yeah. ;_;

I hug all my babies. :heartbeat One of them sleeps at the tip of my bed, but when he first goes to sleep he likes to curl beside me and then once I'm asleep, he'll move toward the tip of the bed because it's facing the door. He hates my dad and my brother, so whenever they walk by my room, he'll growl at them, etc.

I always spend allot of time with pets. Even if thhey're not mine. I just want to teach him how to say "Hello", or "bye-bye". It's so cute when they say "Hello" ;_;.
Thank you for the info.!
