"Human stuff" can be VERY poisonous for Dogs. That's a fact. 'Animal product companies' make healthy food, specifically designed for their diet as the "human" food is nothing but absolute garbage these days - containing all kind of unnatural, poisonous stuff.

And who the **** gives its dog Coffee & Coca Cola?? That **** is toxic. Granted, in large quantities, but still. Why? :| In the end of day, they're dogs and we're humans; there are stuff that they simply cannot digest probably... And really, shouldn't.

****ing Americans, seriously... If you were in Sweden, and would've said that you deliberately give your dog Coffee, Coke, Chips, etc. You would no doubt lose your dog, as the Government can legally "adopt" it if you can't take care of it properly.

like i said my dog lived till it was 13 and it loved to have iced coffee

it wasnt all the time

and look at people commenting when they shove maccas and kfc down their own throats

ohhhhhhhhhh and companies know about products that are best for animals

a dry dog food over here makes a lot of dogs break out in a rash

they itch and scratch loose their fur

wow thats healthy dog food hey 🙄

And that's a Great Dane, right? What happened to her/him? Great Danes are in great need of to have very specific diet in order to live longer, or so I've heard. I used to have a neighbor who had a Great Dane that was 16 years old. She moved out not too long ago, so I don't know if it's still alive.

I give my Doberman Pedigree, and it's working great. His fur is perfect, and so he, overall.

And what? Maccass & KFC? That's equivalent to McDonalds, right? Well, we don't have that here... Yet.

great danes died of old age

i had a terrier cross as well it loved milk and iced coffee had raw meat twice a week it live till 13

it ate human chocolate

Any ideas on better socializing dogs? I got an English bulldog today and my roommates pit bull doesn't think of him as his best friend. They were doing fine at the park but now that they're at home, the pit bull nips at him. I know it's a territorial thing. They eat from seperate bowls and have their own toys as well.

Do you have any good dog parks around? They just opened a park here in San Antonio last year that has an awesome 2acre dog park, it's great there's a section for everyone and a section for little dogs. At the time I just had my little Shih Tzu...he's very well socialized because I took him to work with me every day for the first 8 months of his life. I also brought him to band practice, so he loves music, doesn't get scared when we rock out, he LOVES people, kids and animals...it was funny watching all the big dogs run up on him and sniff him the first time we went. I just got a Rottweiler puppy, he's going to be 5months old next week. He's a little different, it's hard for me to remember he's just a baby because he's sooo big! He's about 50-55lbs, his parents were 140 (mom) and 150 (dad) so he's going to be a beast! I also have two cats (both girls) ...my boys get along great with them! Rasta (the Rottie) is going through his teething stage, so we give him pig ears and raw hides to chew on...I give both my boys Beggin' Strips when they go out and are "good boys", I split one for the two of them, and when they're extra good they each get a full one. I feed the Nature's Choice, Rasta is on the large breed puppy formula with lamb, and Irie (shih tzu) is on Nature's Choice for small breeds. I am having a terrible time with fleas right now. I'm in San Antonio TX and I live on an acre, the boys are trained to go outside and we let them out all through out the day. I've sprayed them, bathed them, did the flea drops and collars, and can't fight them off completely....both boys do dig and bite their skin, Irie is the worst, I've had to put a cone on him because he breaks skin and doesn't stop. I have an aloe spray for their dry skin, I can only give them a bath every 2-3 weeks or so because their skin is sensitive..I have heard the dish soap thing works but I've not tried it yet...I did use eucalyptus oil on their coats because fleas hate it! I've also used mayo before, it's weird...it works well on my cat...the fleas pop up to the top, I heard it suffocates them or something...I tried on Rasta, but it was not as effective as I remember it being. As far as my girls, they get the Indoor Formula Friskies...sometimes I switch up to the Grill Sensations. I use the Yesterday's News litter, and clean out the box every day. My boys and I walk twice a day, once in the morning and once at night...it's too hot to do it when I come home from work now, so I wait until the sun goes down and they LOVE it! I also have puppy play dates with my friends, I have a huge backyard so we grill, hang out and everyone brings their dogs and they all get along rather well...any suggestions on other flea treatments or skin supplies I could use would be great! As far as grooming, I take Irie every month to get his little cut and groom...ears, teeth, all that...and my boys always smell like vanilla milk and honey...yes..I do buy the puppy perfume, lol... 🙂

How old are both dogs?

If the pit bull is older hes showing his dominance
which if your dog is younger the expectation is that your dog should cower to the older dog

are they both fixed?
and when does the pit seem to nip at your dog?

i have a...cat question. my persian is 10 weeks old and since persian hair is so fluffy and long when she poops she gets bits of it stuck in her fur. ofc i cut it out but should i just shave her behind every month to help prevent it in the first place? lol
would that traumatize her?

Do you groom her yourself or do you bring her somewhere?
When I was being trained in grooming we were told to use a small scissors to keep the hair around the anal area as short as possible and to advise the owners to clean that area up every 2 - 3 weeks.

The pit is about three years old and my bulldog is a little over one year. The pit only really nips and bites when they get too close to eachother. Dozer, being a bulldog, doesn't really seem to give a ****. He's only bitten back once. And only the pit bull is fixed.

I have 3 dogs 2 minature horses 30 gallon fish tank a pacman frog a crestecd gecko and a Eastern king snake still a baby. The reptiles have special needs they have to have heat and thier food is not like dog food my snake eats pinky mice and my froh eats crickets and mice. The crested gecko eats baby food fruit and once a week eats crickets. Reptiles are really awesome to have I would say a pet snake corn snake or king snake would be great for frist time pepole that have never had a reptile befor. 🙂

Its def a dominance issue
the older dog is trying to show your dog that hes not to be screwed with in his own home so its like bow down bitch.
This could be a serious situation
Try walking them together on a short leash
dont stop dont let them stop just keep walking them side by side
hopefully that will build trust between the dogs

Im having a hard time with giving advice on this one because of the breed (pit) and because I dont know how your room mate has socialized his dog with other dogs
I think your dog not being fixed could be part of the problem where the pit is fixed.

right now its not that big of an issue but if ya'll leave the dogs alone one day it could be a major issue.
I would talk with your vet or even send an email to the ceasar milan or another dog trainer.

I'd like to try that, but my roommate is being a retard and won't go pick his dog up. I've received a lot of different advice from people, but everyone has said to take them for walks.

Snoop (the pit) is usually pretty good around smaller dogs. He was raised with a Jack Russel, but he's never really been around dogs bigger than him. I talked to the vet yesterday and she told me to try rewarding and giving Snoop a little more attention to make him think that when my dog is around, he gets rewarded, just not rewarded for bad behavior.

Im glad you asked your vet
rewards dont always have to be treats
praising them highly is also very affective too
I wish you luck my friend

yeah, i clean her eyes 3 times/day, comb her fur once/day, etc. i was thinking about getting her a lion cut...lol. her fur back there is shorter now cause i trimmed it a bit without much fuss from crookshanks.
thank you!

My cousin had her Persian almost entirely shaved every few months, so he looked like a cat poodle looking thing. He was totally cool with it.

They aren't really known for speaking, but it is possible to teach them to. It'll just require more time/effort than say with an amazon parrot, etc.

Their coloring is amazing btw. I'm jealous. I miss having a bird. 🙁 I used to have a red-lored amazon parrot that spoke, but he passed away. When he was around, he'd never shut up, but now the house is quiet aside from the barking dogs, but yeah. ;_;

I hug all my babies. :heartbeat One of them sleeps at the tip of my bed, but when he first goes to sleep he likes to curl beside me and then once I'm asleep, he'll move toward the tip of the bed because it's facing the door. He hates my dad and my brother, so whenever they walk by my room, he'll growl at them, etc.
