Dear Site Admin, Cm(s)

Why have you let this site fail and fall into such disrepair?

Posts/Threads- Posts/Threads are ghost edited and closed for no reason. Many times not even breaking any rules. People with no concern with the forums ask for threads to be closed mid discussion most times, and it's done.
Why are posts/threads being deleted or moved to mod forums? especially when its not needed, and then having them be labeled “sensitive mod material” when it was clearly part of the discussion and no sensitive data was posted in open forums.
And then on the far end, users cannot use certain email truncation's to sign up or even contact you to alert you to issues with the site. Many times with issues going on days before action is taken. The fun threads are killed within 3 posts but the seriously, potentially serious threat threads are left for days.

Staff- It seems to be true that in SOME rooms a user must have VIP in order to become moderator? Basically what you/ the room admin are promoting is Pay To Play. Which makes it far less fair and balanced. not only for the other mods that have to work in the same room. but for the users they feel they wont get a fair decision when rules are broken. fair and balanced SHOULD be 1 of the qualities of a moderator, not their ability to pay. This site is missing out on some great moderators simply because they haven't paid (or paid recently).
Why do you treat the staff as they are poop on the bottom of your shoe? And no i certainly dont mean open an AMA or answer every single “HEY” pm. BUT you certainly should be answering your admins and reading what they say, not only do some have their rooms pulse , but most have their moderators insights as well, and no one has a better understanding of each one's room ( and even forums) better than the room's moderators, and anyone that tells you different is lying. Why don't you trust your admins to make good decisions for the room/forums? If you cant let them do the volunteer job, why did you hire them? It reflects badly on you when an admin/room/forum mods have to say, nope i cant do it. If they are your staff they should be given access to the tools to do what they were put there to do. If they don't do it, remove them if you must, not punish the entire group. we've been through this before and we learned taking tools/options away only hurts this site, its users and its bottom line. And yes, it's hurting the bottom line, 15 forums users online at a time is borderline dead.
Why is it taking months to turn mods blue? If users cannot tell who's who in forums how are users supposed to take what a mod says seriously and get users to follow the rules. Why are mods modding the room before being turned blue in forums?
Again , on the far end here, a moderator and an admin admitted to running a script in forums this past weekend. Historically, they would have been removed and banned. You've removed and banned for posting a poem before, and script running is far far far worse.

Rules- Why is there suddenly an influx of new rules? There are rules and then there are CORE rules, have fun, don’t hack, no flashing pictures, C,F,N,R word isn't acceptable. Now other words are now added to that list. And it seems that other unknown;unnamed rules are being placed and enforced. Forum bans are inconsistent with the crime, as well as no warnings or use of the ban reason box. Lack of users kills a site but so does over moderation/rules. Why is common sense not used more often? Why is it not inferred it should be used 1st when making a moderation decision?

You and I(the cm name) have gotten along like oil and water and i won't be sorry for it nor will I expect it to change. C/A is no longer a priority to you,and we(i) get that. But if you want this site to survive until the end of the year you're going to have to listen to some of us and change some things on this site. Or you'll be left with the f%%k week bots and script kiddies, and will be more of a laughing stock than it already is.

i have copies(mainly stated because of point 1)
#FreeLuka
TL😀R then get out, doors <----------- i dont do it often anymore but when i do its f%%ked up and it needs a change.

They can, in certain rooms. Like kids chat.
I know you're a former mod of Boys chat, so you might not know, but I'm happy to inform you that some of us are able to kick for 6 hours max, at least in Kids chat!
Very helpful.
🙂
I modded Kids too 100 years ago, but at that time, all mods could ban people permanently. It was a different beast. Six hours is not much better than two when you consider the stakes of what's going on, especially in that room

Ah yes, I did hear about that. How mods took advantage of that.
Pity, no?
But then it was removed. But I would say that having six hour kicks do actually help a bit more than you think, especially since our admin (Plus Arkham, for however long we have them) have brilliant ideas!
With their ideas, and the extra kick tome, we do manage some pretty nice things!

Yeah nobody took advantage of it, and if they did, that's still not why the system changed. I'll explain it to you

None of this changed because anyone "took advantage." The chat software at that time was based on Javascript, which your fellow Kids Chat Moderator is intimately familiar with. It was some real dinosaur shit. There was no function to temporarily ban anyone, there was only a kick and a ban. A ban put a user's IP address onto a ban list, and it stayed there unless removed by the chat admin, certain privileged moderators or the site administrators.

Bans were essentially reserved for creepy criminals and spammers. Spammers were a bigger problem then than they are now, because the user had to be in the room actively, and the mod had to select them on the list during the 2-to-3 seconds they're in the chat before name changing in order to ban them. It was a hassle.

Every two or three months, all bans were cleared by the site admin regardless. There was no real permanence, but at least it wasn't six hours.

Now there is new software that allows the site admins to restrict it and so they did. ($$$$$$$$$ site traffic especially in Kids Chat where I bet only half of the people in there at any given time meet the age range.) There is nothing about people's abuse inherent in that, and any of you who get defensive about today's system system are misguided. Six hours is better than two, but some things deserve to be permanent, and if it is not at your discretion, whose discretion is it? The site owners who will never actually review the evidence?

You want to ban a pedophile for six hours and have him come back later, knowing that despite your best efforts, it's impermanent, that's your call! Whew! We used to trace their IP addresses and email local police with our screenshotted evidence, not that it did anything, but we did it! Times changed!

I'm not trying to debate with you, and I do in fact agree with you on many points.
All I'm trying to say is that we do have six hour kicks and they do sometimes do things to help the chat. Usually for just foolish kids that don't understand certain things. Scares them straight!
It's not great, it's not bad, but there is a room that does allow 6 hours kicks. Nothing more! <3

I've been on this site a very long time, I don't type much in forums but this, this is important to me. I loved to mod. I was a singles chat mod for near 16 yrs. I seen some admin come and go and many more mods. Rosie was the best Admin singles ever had. We had 600 to 800 ********. Adult was jam packed everyday. Things have changed and it's for the worse. It's a skeleton of the site it once was. You only have to pay and you get rights to bully, spam, doxx, abuse threaten and attack anyone you like and your lucky if they get kicked let alone banned. The site is failing. Everything Rosie said it true. We speak up because we care. It's not a "you and your friends" causing sh!t, it has nothing to do with that. There's alot goin on here. Pay attention people.

I have only been here for 4 or 5 years, previous account was Heathen, but in those 5ish years I have seen the same changes, so I can only imagine how people who have been here for 10 or plus years must feel. This is a social platform and people have formed friendships and bonds, some have even found a life partner and I can only imagine how disheartening is must be to watch it decline like it has

I’ve been here a long time. I’m glad some of idiots have left. I guess my opinion is this this website has had it’s and downs. At the moment it’s on the slope going down. Hopefully goes back up. Make change people.

In my limited experience, I’ve seen a few things. Obviously I’m not as involved as Mods/Admins/etc, but I have thoughts none the less. And against my better judgment I’ve tried to make this site better using my own time and leaving my own suggestions.

The rise of social media is of course one main reason this site is dying. What makes this place worth coming to over a social media site for most users? Social offers new stuff for its users constantly. It has to, if those sites want to stay relevant in a constantly changing landscape. I make a hefty part of my living using those tools, just as some background.

This place, uh, does not. Even VIP users still see ads on our screens while chatting and have an ad on our profiles now. This screams to me that the site just doesn’t make enough money to cater to its audience. If that is untrue, and the money part is fine, then the lack of updates says the upper management just doesn’t care enough to give us new things.

Which of these is better?

And if there are no new things to give us due to software issues or what have you, how does this site aim to stay relevant going into the future?

The quizbot script/software/whatever is from the 20th effin century.

The size restrictions on photos are outrageous and now clearing side rooms earlier seems another money saving measure, so this again does not paint a rosy picture to users.

I’ve also noticed since COVID lockdowns ended a lot of people that came during 2020-2021 have left. Can’t fault them for that. It was a way to communicate while people were at home by themselves. But they’re not anymore, and so, less users.

Finally, we’ve lost quite a few really good, long time ******** in General lately for various reasons and no number pointing will make up for that.

P.S. make the friends wall more like a social media feed, ffs. Get the hell in the 21st century. Stop limiting users. If you’re concerned your users can’t use things like that without being egregiously disgusting, maybe actually deal with that problem and stop wondering why genuine users are frustrated and/or leaving.

for reasons i still have not figured out 20 years down the line. owner(s) still have not trusted users with basic forums options on walls/profiles that every other site has. like ability to close account even posting of outside media is so restricted. in the room (un)limits to time side rooms . yet they continue to push the buy vip option for no real gain. on the staffing front its stated flat out its a volunteer position, however its not clear until your already in the position how much you have to give up and how poorly they are treated many times asked to do things a person would do only if they expected to be paid ,with far less trust than a site would trust with a regular user. when faced with helping a regular user many times they are left with no tools suggestions or options to help the user. when the good ones realize this or tire of it and quit. what is left is button abusing power hungry mods. ( not all mods are this way, some genuine ones get through & stay quite a while ) and those lately seem to be the norm not the exception. this site has always had its highs and lows , fun times and boring times. but the last few years , predating the pandemic, its been in a low it cant seem to move out of.

70 some odd forums users a little while ago.

nearly 400 in general Chat 15 minutes ago. (which is more than double than what it was 3ish years ago)
Black And White Film GIF
400 ********. Like 14 of them actually engage in chatting.

you keep yapping about numbers

what part of guests cannot post dont you understand?

on top of that the majority of guests on currently are viewing "unknown page"... seems to smell like a bot or an attempted website attack.

guest/bots STILL out number members. they arent GENUINE users.

NO NEW OR EXTRA people are logging in.
