Hit me with your current reads!

I might be aiming too high here thinking more than about 5 of us know what a book is 🙈😇

I'll start: Liane Moriarty - Apples Never Fall

She has rarely written a bad story, I used to read her more often when I had gotten back into reading as an adult.

I LOVE Pepper Winters for a bit of trashy smut! Haven't read this one yet! Any good?

Also, reading Mike Tysons Biography for when I feel like something different to fiction!
I am a huge pepper fan she’s a top favorite, this is absolutely phenomenal. Did you ever read the ribbon series by her? My favorite trashy one was her indebted series, that series had me questioning my morals 😂

I always have a few books going at once myself, Current reads are also House of Morgan about the American banking dynasty by Ron Chernow and The rise and fall of the third reich by William Shirer. I very much tend to be a mood reader.

Lou we should do a group read of something sometime and chat about it as we go along. We could do like 5 chapters a day something like that 🙂

I am always reading far too many books, but I'll give you the top 5 of current reads (all in Dutch translations):

1) Heike Monogatori -unknown writer. Also known as the Tale of the Heike.
2) Dream of the Red Chamber - Cao Xueqin. Also known as The Story of the Stone.
3) The God is not Willing - Steven Erikson. The first Tale of Witness, set in the world of the Malazan Book of the Fallen.
4) The City of Brass - S.A. Chakraborty
5) Volver la vista atras - Juan Gabriel Vasquez. English title: Retrospective

But there's a few dozen more that I am more or less reading. One book is never enough.

Reading is life tbh. Last year i read a little over 300 books, it’s nice to escape in a different world and by the end of a story feel such a really connection to the characters. Sometimes it’s hard to say goodbye lol

Sometimes it's being said I could read before I could walk. And although that is far exaggarating things, up to when I was about 20 or so, a picture of me without a book in my hands was non-existent. I collect books as well as read them. I have nearly 3,000 now, in a small attic appartment with slanted roofs. So not a library possible. Oh well.

I’m currently reading a story about a community that has been uprooted by a catastrophic disaster. It has true life commentary from some of the residents about how hard their life has become since the disaster. Oh, wait, it’s only forums I’m reading.
Daddddd go away you’re being embarrassing again sheesh.

I just got this on my Kindle from the library for some light summer reading. Mine's not the Large Print version though, that was just for @rapinoes smirking revenge who can't see anymore because she was born back in approximately Nineteen Dickety Two.

I'm also still finishing Murakami's Men Without Women, Teju Cole's Black Paper, and The Colony by Audrey Magee. Oh and also slowly winding my way through The Creative Act by Rick Rubin and re-reading The War of Art.

I may have a problem.

I am reading the bible again. 🙂 I have read it many times in my life time and I am reading it again. 🙂 I do not know how many times I have read the bible but a lot of times. I love reading the bible.

"See, the day of the Lord is coming — a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger. . . . I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty. . . . Their infants will be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses will be looted and their wives violated." - Isaiah 13

It's really inspiring, isn't it?

Choose Yourself by James Altucher and Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score
Knox and Naomi were absolute chefs kiss, this book was an emotional rollercoaster for me between laughing and crying. Did you ever read a thousand boy kisses?

I haven’t!! I honestly just got back into reading and I’m not sure why I picked a spicy book 😂 but it’s good! I’m like 70% through.

If you ever feel like you need a good cry I highly recommend it. We have a quite a few book readers on our room, I’ve been trying to get us all to do a group read of something 🙂

Currently I'm reading the message that I'm typing as I type it, and no doubt will read it 3 or 4 more times after posting "just in case"

Just got done with “Impulse” by David Bara. Also, The Three Body Problem trilogy by Liu Cixin (Cixin Liu if in native tongue) was fantastic. Best hard science fiction I’ve read in a long time. And. If you’re into that kind of thing, “House of Suns” by Alastair Reynolds was great.

I’m reading a new series and I’m on book 3, I don’t wanna say the series but it’s also a standalone connected. But anyways I’ve been rooting for this couple and a miracle, first page is the damn funeral 🥺😢😭 It’s in the male POV and my lord I can’t stop crying now. Anyone else get so connected to a character that you hurt with them, or when the series is over you genuinely miss the people inside of the pages? Some books crawl inside my skin and I just never forget them. One of the biggest for me was A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole, after that book I cried for days.

A very old hardback copy of Maurice Herzog's Annapurna. A description of the expedition and first summit of the mountain and the toll it took on the climbers.

Got myself a new book for Christmas. It's officially called S. by Doug Dorst & JJ Abrams. But the easiest way to find it is to ****** Ship of Theseus by VM Straka.

Highly intriguing, even after just the foreword.

Be an Angel: Devotions to Inspire and Encourage Love and Light Along the Way by Roma Downey

I have to read the whole book in one sitting. is that weird?
Not weird, everyone prefers to read books in their own way, people might read in one sitting ( example you ), some in weeks, some 1 page a day, some specify a number of pages each day, and some in months ( erm.. ), everyone chooses what comforts them <:

I just wanna know what happens.

I am reading a book that am halfway through I read a page a day so will take me a year hard to read in the dark.

what is the story about you ask - well here is what I got thus far bare with me.

This book was well written had me right off the book club when it lured me in....

  • It kept me which most books do not do a pure page turner
  • for some twisted way the author knew my tension span was short
  • the book without revealing the story or plot is packed full of surprises
  • and you will fall in love with the theme of the story
  • I could not find any reviews of the book anywhere not sure why
  • the characters in the pages spring to life and as I read on and on I started believing they were true
  • The overall is this and pay attention please because I am not repeating myself
This book is the best read I have read in such a long time, it is packed full of real world events, so by me reading the book I have a time and place when the story unfolded. I was hurled into the story and felt like I was in the adventure or journey of the theme with the main characters.

Secondly I got a more abundant appreciation for this style of writing and If it ever became a Movie I go see it 32 times.

if you like Suspense, Drama, Action, Dark Romance and if you have ever seen a theatrical show then this book is exactly for you.

Now if you like none fiction of that sort, and are more mundane, or like comedy or a juicy romance, horror, Sci-Fi and thus biographies
then this book is for you too bet you didn't see that coming did you.

If you liked star wars or Indiana jones you will love this book, if you liked the movies of Count Dacula by Bram Stokers, Lord of the rings, Underworld, The Walking Dead, and any related to this you will simply love this story. If when you were growing up and you seen or was told of a mystical enchanted castle and all its contents and a girl lost and upon it by chance while searching for her elderly father called Bell in the story Beauty and the Beast you will love this book as well. Although mainly biggest thing if your looking for a book that will not grow dust that you can read over and over then this book will do that for each time you read it you will find something new and discovered.

I've been reading some P. G. Wodehouse books, mostly the Jeeves and Wooster ones. A lot of the humour carries through, some of the attitudes are both eye opening and cringe, but on the whole it's interesting to see how the English world worked a hundred years ago.

Just finished reading Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher ❤ I liked it. 😅

Got a Nicholas Sparks book as my next read, as a recommendation from a friend.. but honestly.. it's been patiently waiting on my desk.. it's just sad and alone.. unread as of yet. 😥

Also reading, as an audiobook, LOTR Book 1. Halfway through so just a good 10 hours left lol.
