In this thread, post questions about two similar things that can be done in different variations or orders. The next person will reply with which they prefer and then pose their own 'this or that' question. (If @Inkandtatts can have a 'yes/no' and a 'have you ever,' surely a 'would you rather' and a 'this or that' can coexist as well.) I'll start:

Do you put on both socks before both shoes, or do you put on sock shoe sock shoe?
 
I think i had proposed a this or that but people said it was too close to wyr...so i support this

home cooked meal or nice restaurant out?
 
It's a fine line so I see both sides of the argument, and I'm not sure where the line falls. I wouldn't consider a home cooked meal vs going to a restaurant a nuance decision, so that might fall on the other side of the line. And who is cooking? So many questions. Either or both depending on the circumstances.

Do you put the tea bag in the mug before the hot water, or the hot water in the mug before the tea bag?
 
i don't drink hot beverages...but...when i make tea for someone...i always put the bag in before the hot water...typically because i've got the cup and bag ready before the water's done boiling...efficiency

do you look at the keys when you type or do you know your homerow?
 
I do not look at my hands when I type, although I'm not sure I knew the name of that before just now.

Do you wet your toothbrush before applying toothpaste, do you apply toothpaste before wetting your toothbrush, or do you not wet your toothbrush when applying toothpaste?
 
i apply toothpaste then wet my toothbrush

do you turn out the lights before you go to bed, turn them off at your bed, or for some reason leave them on and go to bed?
 
Hmm... I've never considered a preference here. Traditionally office chairs spin and dining chairs do not. And I've never had an objection or preference otherwise.

Do you tie a bow by tying two loops together, or by making one loop, wrapping the other string around, and pulling a second loop through the first?

When washing your hands, do you put soap in your hands before turning on the faucet or turn on the faucet before putting soap in your hands?
 
the patent says over...but that's because it was designed so that you actually take one extra square by going over...meaning you use more that way

it depends on how dirty the facilities are in public...sometimes it feels cleaner to use wet hands to push the soap dispenser thing...usually...soap first

when you sit on a couch do you take up as much room as you can or do you sit up right and all stuffy?
 
If it's my couch, I'm often horizontal and space consuming. If it's someone else's couch, I'll be respectful of the space.

Do you untie and retie your shoe laces every wear, or do you slip off your shoes with laces remaining tied and slip them back on and continue to wear them with the previous lace tie?
 
i wear laceless shoes...efficiency...but the last time i had laces for my shoes they were always tied for me to slip them on also...easy peasies

do you blow on hot beverages, do you wait for it to cool, do you add cooler liquids to it to cool it down?
 
Burn my mouth and wait for them to cool.

For those who take medications or vitamins only once a day, do you prefer to take them in the morning or at night?
 
I think word association has the least amount of thought required, yes/no and would you rather give you a general idea of who someone is, and this/that let you know about someone in the minutia but it's generally for less relevant things. For that reason, I like them from least to most in that order.

Do you immediately get dressed following a shower, or do you take some time with a stop-gap between being nude and being clothed (such as walking around in a towel or robe)?
 
I tend to get dressed right after getting out of the shower...usually because i shower first thing in the morning

For a rice dish, chopsticks. For a rice side, fork. For a rice soup, spoon.

Square sandwich cut at a 90° angel, cut at a diagonal from corner to corner, or not cut at all?
 
when i make sandwiches for others i tend to cut them diagonally...but for myself either not cut or i rip off pieces as i eat it

do you butter your toast before you put other spreads on it or do you apply jam/peanut butter/jelly/other naked?
 
Naked. Butter is only applied to toast when I'm only eating buttered toast. If I'm having toast with jam or peanut butter or avocado, those are going directly on the toast with no butter included.

Do you keep your butter inside the refrigerator or at room temperature?
 
fridge...if it's margarine i'll sometimes leave it out...but butter...unless it's in a butter bell...a no go

if you're ordering food that has beef, pork, or chicken...which do you choose and why?
 
I will order a vegetable based dish the majority of the time out of flavour and texture preference. From the list you listed, it sort of depends. Birds are weird and have human texture. If it's a cow, I'd prefer a steak to a ground cow. Pork I don't really have an opinion on positive or negative. Generally, if someone else is cooking, I'm eating whatever meat is in it. If I'm cooking, there's no meat in it. And if I'm at restaurant, I'll generally order a plant-based dish or whatever meat happens to be in the daily special.

Do you prefer to eat off a plate or out of a bowl? (Assuming the food is more solid than liquid and could reasonably be consumed out of either)

it depends if i'm eating at the table or watching something...if i'm at the table a plate...if i'm on the couch a bowl

do you think we carry on after we die or do you think everything stops for us?
 
That sort of thing is above my pay grade and I tend to not worry about things I'll never be able to know definitively.

Did you attend a public school, a private school, or home school?
 
Catholic school.....but here the two predominant school boards are the public and catholic...i live in a city of about a million and there's about 50 schools in each schoolboard...there's also charter schools and private schools...the difference being price for the last two. regardless...it's pretty much all the same curriculum and standardized testing...catholic has a religion course requirement to graduate...that's got no assignments...it also has a focus on catholic doctrine celebrations...and they frown on casino fundraisers despite it netting them 80k a year per school when they do them...i went because it was the french immersion school closest to my place growing up...on top of spanish being my first language...my parent's figured that learning french would help in life...tha'ts subjective at this point in my life if it actually did

do you have an inner dialogue when you think or do you not hear anything at all or is it your voice but not in conversation with another part of your brain?
 
Inner dialogue.

When you think about an object in your mind (let's say a cow), can you picture that object or do you only think of words affiliated with the object? If you can picture it, are you able to mentally rotate the object to see it from different angles and perspectives or is it static?
 
i can picture it...or something that represents it...but i can't rotate it...i just know the end result...but i also don't have an inner dialogue...so i don't solve problems by walking through them...i just have a solution...end result...no in between

did you prefer sciences, arts, or physical type classes growing up?

You know it’s known that women cross their arms and men pull from the back to take off their shirt? Anyway… I button then zip.

When you take off your pants do you pull from the end (foot part) then pull, or pull down from the top all the way through?
 
You also missed the one armed side pull, I've seen that one as well.

I think I undo the top and slide them passed my ass, and then step on the bottom to pull them off that way. They remain right-sided out. I would have to change clothes though to be sure of the approach.

Do you sleep on your back, your side, your front, or a combination?
 
I have to have my fan on or I can’t sleep.

Alternate between the items on my plate so that there is one bite of everything left at the end.

i tend to enjoy chill weekends...but chill for me can also be busy...as long as they're smooth busy ones

Logistics for me...because of the beard it's about efficiency and what makes the least amount of mess...so it could be best first, middle, last...personally i don't have a preference really

Very different. I mod a room that pushes 1000 ********, so there is no chat to be had there. As a result, I chat here. When I modded a small room, I enjoyed being able to have conversations there and was less active here. One benefit of forums though is that you can catch-up on all the chisme from different timezones with a simple scroll. In a room, it's a bad game of telephone.

Do you prefer sunlight or light from electrical bulbs?
 
i burn easily so as a result i don't necessarily like being in the sun...not a cave dweller...just not a fan of direct sun...but i also don't really need light in a SAD sort of way...

dominant hand for all activities or randomly non-dominant for certain tasks?
 
Due to injuries, my non-dominant hand has limited fine motor abilities. I constantly work with it, but something as mundane as putting coins in a vending machine presents a challenge. Fun fact, it used to be my dominant when I was young, but it's my non-dominant now and forever will be. But it is a very good arm and I am very grateful to have it attached to my body.

Naps on the couch/sofa/settee or the bed?
 
i'm not a big fan of naps...mostly because i never feel rested after...but couch cause it's usually an unexpected pass out

Maine Coons are neat cats. I however just wait for the cat distribution system to work its magic, and would take whatever the universe gifted me.

So I don't know if this makes sense... But for me... Without an inner monologue... It seems fruitless to study. I tend to pick things up pretty good just listening. Repetition helps but casual, not concentrated. Cause when I try to "think" of answers it's an instant recollection for the most part. I might have to do association remembering but there's no dialogue to figure out what the answer is.

They sleep downstairs in their beds although one of them does come up and sleep alongside my bed sometimes.

Are your dogs allowed on the furniture or not?
 
Fuggles doesn't shed and he's all if 10lbs so we don't mind if he goes on the furniture.
