|*|Cronus got to his feet and nodded at the woman, "Yeah... I can't do that. By all means, if you get out alive, meet me at the city gates. You can't stay here anymore. Go well, stranger," he said casually, turned on his heel, and ran off in the other direction. He didn't want to leave the woman, but he felt that since she was a servant she'd know what to do. The event played over in his head time and time again, he had been so close to putting this all to an end... so close. If only he had struck the King and then jumped. He yelled out through gritted teeth in is frustration. Regardless of what the servant had said, he'd have to head towards the main entrance. He couldn't leave without his men. He'd have to get rid of his Beaumont armour if he was to make it out alive. He ran inside a small building, carefully poking his head inside to see what it was. It seemed to be a servant's quarters, but nobody was home luckily.

He closed the door shut behind him and ripped off the layers of armour. He had nothing on underneath, but some protective undergarments, and a stiff protective shirt, made of some synthetic substance to stop swords. He looked at his armour again, feeling as though he were leaving a part of him behind. He grabbed his sword, and opened the door quietly, looking around. The security seemed to have tightened up. "Hey, you there!" shouted a Knight, walking towards him. Just what Cronus wanted. "What are you doing with that sword?" the Knight asked.
"It's from one of the escapees, he's inside. Seems to be hurt badly, I forced it off him. You better hurry before he leaves," Cronus said, opening the door for the Knight. The Knight ripped the sword out of his hands as he passed, which Cronus allowed for now. He let the Knight pass him, and then he too stepped inside, closing the door.
The Knight looked down at the armour, sprawled over the floor, but was sent crashing into the mantlepiece, as Cronus released another energy burst. He pulled the Knight's helm off, and then kicked him in the throat. He heard a cracking noise, as the man's neck broke.

He emerged out of the house, fully dressed in the Constantine Knight's armour. He ran towards the main entrance hoping he wasn't too late. To his relief his guard had been locked up around a long pole, with several Knights surrounding them. "The King orders these men to be released and brought to him immediately!" Cronus shouted to the Knights. The Knights seemed to not understand, but then nodded and began un-cuffing Cronus' guard. Roderick, the youngest of Cronus' guard, held his hands open, and two swords appeared out of no where. He slashed down the first Constantine. Cronus' threw off his helm, and advanced upon the other Constantine Knights. "Come on, leave them, just run!" Cronus shouted to his guard, picking up his helm again, and running towards the gate, which was blocked and gaurded by at least a dozen soldiers. "Gerret, make haste! You're up!" Cronus shouted to the Knight at his side.

Gerret nodded, he flexed his muscles as he ran, and roared, his body began twitching and pulsating. He grew almost three fold his usual size, and then pummelled his way towards the blocked gate, and soldiers. The soldier's strikes upon gerret was useless, he knocked them all over, and broke through the barred gate as though it had been paper. Cronus ran up beside him, "Change!" he shouted. The man almost immediately fell to his knee's, returning back to his normal self. He jumped to his feet, running quickly to rejoin his Prince.|*|

Keikoa walked quickly heading for the tunnel area, she had suggested to the knight. She stopped as if she had seen, a ghost and placed her hands around her neck. "Its gone." Keikoa thought to herself. Turning, and heading to a side entrance to the servant's quarters.

Turning the handle with a shaky hand, she opened it, and looked inside of it. Keikoa would have to gather what few things she had, and get out. She walked up the wooden planks of the stairs, and tried to make little sound as she possibly could. The creaks were inevitable no matter how she walked up the stairs. The quarters seemed to be empty, all the servants were probably working through dinner as always.

Walking to her room she entered, feeling a twinge of regret. Shaking the thought, "whats done, is already done." Keikoa thought out loud. Going to her dresser, which looked like it should have been thrown out a long time ago, she lifted a jewelery box, and took out a golden heart. Keikoa flipped her hair in front of shoulder, hooking the golden heart around her neck. "Told you I would never forget." Keikoa whispered to some apostrophe.

After gathering, some stashed money, and a picture, and a knapsack full of battered clothing, along with a silver pin with a butterfly on it, Keikoa left her room forever. Keikoa manage to make it safely out of the servant's quarter's, and down the ally way. With the knapsack around her arm, Keikoa fought to walk fast and pin her hair up at the same time. She never slowed with the pin in her mouth, and her hands working at twisting her hair to pin it. It would be easy to spot her since her hair was loud in every view.

Placing the pin in her hair, she walked on heading into town. The town was packed as always, with gruff looking men, and women selling fruits, and children playing. Keikoa hurried threw the crowd, knowing she was safe for now. The only problem would be getting out to the city gates. Keikoa murmured excuse me, and pardon me when people bumped into her heading for the city gates.

((Sorry for the late reply. I was in hospital ^_^))

|*| Cronus had decided that splitting up would be the smarter thing to do. He pushed through the crowded streets hidden by the cover of the masses. Above him he caught a glimpse of one of his guards, choosing the roofs to make his exit. The Constantine guard were on full patrol, flooding the streets with their numbers the longer the search carried on. They weren't going to find Cronus, not in this crowd. He reached the gate, feeling that it had been almost to easy. Most of his guard had arrived their already, and were fighting of the Constantine soldiers trying to stop them. Cronus joined them, slamming his sword down hard upon a Constantine's helmet, the soldier wobbled slightly, and then crumpled under the blow.
He looked around searching for the servant girl, but couldn't see her.
"Roderick, there's a certain woman. She's got long red hair, and dressed like a servant, no doubt she'll be covered so look closely, but i want you to wait for her. Once you find her, regroup with the rest of us, understood?" asked cronus.
"Yessir!" answered Roderick.
"Come on, let's move," Cronus said after one last final check.
"I think we should stay off the main roads sir! Perhaps take the old road?" asked one of his guard. Cronus nodded, "Okay Roderick, we'll meet you on the old road." he said, and began walking towards the entrance of a thick green forest, situated not so far from the Castle walls. He could almost see the tree trunks inside the dimly lit forest, but suddenly he felt himself being jerked back, and he froze. Then he felt his feet lift off the ground, and he was pulled back through the air like some invisible rope had been wrapped around him. He heard somebody shout his name, but the force of his head hitting the floor seemed to temporarily stun him. He shook his head, blinking several times, and then felt something tighten around his chest. It felt like he was being crushed. He looked down to see a large metal clasp, tightening it's grasp around him, an instrument used when hunting large wild animals in the Arcadh desert. Any minute now the spikes would be dislodged from the contraption, and if he survived that, he'd bleed to death. He felt his body being dragged along with tremendous force, and before he new it, he was under the canopy of the forest. The stream of colours whirring past his eyes like a kaleidoscope. And then he stopped.
"Is it him?" asked somebody close by.
"I think so...," replied a second voice.
Cronus looked up at his capturers... they seemed to be mercernary hunters.|*|

Adenosine lowered the hood over his face as he watched the mercenaries drag the dazed body of the Prince, he counted a total of nine mercenaries.*As much as I would like to watch the kid get beat down, The Queen would kill me if she found out I let it happen*

"Guess what boy, you would make a perfect slave in New Azaria." The biggest one grunted, the other ones began to laugh at the terror stricken face of the Prince.

"Well, now or never," Adenosine unseated his sword from his back sheath and readied it. He waited for the perfect moment and seen it when the leader turned from the Prince and set his blade down on a rock. He bursted through the underbrush and took the mercenaries near him by surprise, two quick cleaves to the head solved all their problems. Adenosine was already rushing towards the next set before their bodies even hit the ground. He easily hacked down the next guard but wasn't able to stop him from screaming. Adenosine immediatley froze and knew the surprise was gone, He saw the remaining mercs turn and see him standing over the corpse of one their brethren.

"Who the hell are you?" The leader asked Adenosine.

"I am the boy's guard and you'll do best to release him." Adenosine responded quickly.

"Well, We aren't just gonna let him loose so what are you planning on doing to stop us?"

Adenosine could tell the big man was stalling him so He turned his head a tiny amount and saw one of the mercs creeping up on him, but before the man could raise his weapon Adenosine had already impaled him upon the end of Beastkin. He let out a low grunt and and fell to his knees. Adenosine ripped the blade from the corpse and took out another merc who was rushing at him. He turned to face the leader of the group when he felt it. A searing pain in the middle of his stomach, he felt the hood of his cloak slide of his face and heard a gasp from behind him. He fell to the ground to see the face of the man who stabbed and was shocked at what he saw.

"Kendric, your alive." Adenosine passed out just after that.

The streets were more congested than they had ever been, forcing Keikoa to stop a few times. There was no doubt that her red hair was a dead give away so she kept a wary on each of the guards she spotted. Walking once more, she stopped at a huge man eyeing her. Automatically looking down from habit, Keikoa walked on with her head lowered still conscious of the man, and the guards. She brushed past the man, who turned and grabbed her arm very lightly. Keikoa whirled around, and held up her hand applying pressure to the wrist of the man who held her with her mind.

They stared blankly at each other, but Keikoa knew he posed no threat, by now he would have turned her in. Placing her hand at her side, and slipping free from the grip, she said in a low voice. "Who are you, I'm sorry but I have to get moving, sticking in one spot isn't safe." Keikoa said turning and walking.

The man caught up with Keikoa with only a few strides, she made her way through the crowd, and spotted the gates barely up ahead, where the crowd seemed to thin a little.

"Are you the servant girl Prince Cronus, sent me for you. I'm Roderick." Roderick introduced himself in a deep voice, while Keikoa continued to walk.

"Not much of a servant anymore, but I am who you came for. Nice to meet you Sir Roderick. So that man...he is a prince?" Keikoa asked finally getting out the crowd, and heading for the gates.

The slaughter wasn't as terrible as it could have been, but it was amusing none-the-less. The main ones who poke their noses where they have no business poking it, were actually caught off guard. "Serves them right." Keikoa thought to herself.

"Yes m'am he is. Its nice to meet you too, I must get you to the old road, there you will be much safer." Roderick said taking the lead.

Keikoa nodded, and followed closely behind Roderick. The forest always was a mystery to her, and often she thought about venturing off into just to see what lay inside. It had a sort of evil spirit to it, but then it had a little good in it too. Roderick still walked remaining in silence, Keikoa guessed because maybe he was that social, or maybe he just didn't know her all that well.He was a big man, but he moved with such grace, Keikoa studied the way he walked until, she gasped putting her hands up to stop a trap, which froze before he trapped Roderick's ankles.

"Roderick, take a step back and look down." Keikoa said calmly, and waited until Roderick stepped back.

Roderick, looked down, just as Keikoa put her hands down, and the trapped closed then lifted. Bending down, he studied where he had stepped, then looked up. "We have to move quickly." Roderick said walking a little bit faster.

Keikoa fought to keep up with him, but she did but panting a bit. Pieces of her hair fell from her clip, but she didn't bother to fix them back. Roderick then turned his head slightly over his shoulder, "You have my gratitude."

"If thats your way of saying thank you, your welcome." Keikoa said smiling brightly, then caught up to Roderick's side, trying but failing to match his strides.

|*| Cronus had heard a flurry break out, but couldn't see much as he had been turned over, his face buried in the mud. The voice that spoke, sounded familiar, but he couldn't make it out. He heard another noise, but it was larger and more rash. Somebody roare, the voice as loud as a large bear. Cronus could feel the vibrations the creature made as it stampeded over the remaining mercernaries. He felt himself being flipped over, and the hunting tool ripped away from his chest. He looked up staring at Gerret, who flung the contraption away. Gerret began twitching, his muscles pulsating and warping.

He returned to his normal form, "Forgive my late arrival, Milord," he said going down on one knee.
Cronus stood up, "You got here just in time," he muttered, one hand strapped across his chest. He looked across the floor, staring at the bodies, some still groaning. He walked over the bodies, and the stopped.
"Adenosine...," Cronus said walking towards the man. He bent down, noticing the blood stricken across the floor around him. "Quick, fetch Yete, this man is dying," Cronus said, without looking up at Gerret. He heard Gerret leave, and then rose back to his feet. He felt his side looking for his sword, but realised it was no longer there. He left Adenosine, searching the ground for his sword.

"My lord?" came the voice of Yete, a young baby-faced soldier.
"Tend to Von Lichtenstein," Cronus said, pointing to Adenosine. Yete seemed confused, but slowly walked towards the man, turning his head to look back just in case Cronus had made a mistake.
"Umm, forgive me Prince Cronus, but why are you saving a Von Lichtenstein?" Gerret asked.
"He saved my life, and he watches over the Princess. She'd be heart stricken if he died," Cronus said, his eyes far off in another place.
Another one of his guard emerged through the darkness and into the small threshhold, "My prince, Roderick and the servant girl are approaching," he said.
"Okay good, bring the rest of the men here, we shall wait for them," Cronus replied, turning to watch Yete, as he removed the blade inside Adenosine's stomach, and then placed his hands over the wound.

"What now my lord?" asked Gerret.
"We return to Azaria, notify my father, and then... I don't know, but if we are to go to war, then I welcome it," he said, looking up as the large outline of Roderick walked into the threshhold, accompanied by the red-haired servant girl.
"I found her, prince," Roderick said, his face as serious as it usually was.|*|

Adenosine could feel the blood stop flowing from the wound and waited while the wound healed itself. He could vaguely feel a pair of hands on his stomach and pushed them away. As he sat up his righted his hood so it covered his face once again and looked at the person who was trying to help him.

"No need, my body heals itself," He said to the young soldier, who had a very surprised look on his face. Adenosine looked around and could see the clearing was occupied by Prince Cronus' guard and a red-headed girl. He shook his head as he repressed a memory and stood up to talk to the young prince, "Prince I came all the way from the castle to tell you, We were attacked and the King was killed."

Roderick seemed almost automatic, when he walked to Prince Cronus' side. Keikoa clasped her hands together, and stood in front of the Prince, feeling the urge to bow, fighting it. She was no longer a servant, and though the man deserved her respect in a form of a bow, she simply would not give it. Keikoa didn't want to be alone, but the prince had more important things to do than watch over a servant who was kicked out of the castle.

She glanced around at the mercenaries who were slayed on the ground, and lifted a brow. Shaking her head slightly at the sign of violence, she returned her gaze to the face of the prince. "Prince....Cronus...." Keikoa started slowly gathering her words as she went, "Thank you for saving my life back at the castle, and I know you have things to tend to, back at your own... So I bid you a farewell and a safe trip, and if there is anything I can do to repay my debt to you, then I will pay it gladly."

Keikoa turned her head up high, with the bag strapped over her shoulder, then she turned. "And thank you Roderick for coming to get me, that was very noble of you."

Keikoa turned once more headed in a direction that was unknown to her, she was lost, but didn't show it. Always having to do things on her own kind of took a toll on her, but she was stubborn enough to go along with it. She walked a few steps, slowly taking her time to choose which way she would go.

|*| Cronus watched as Adenosine shrugged one of his Gaurd off, and healed himself without a hint of difficulty.
"Ahh... yes, I seem to have forgotten that, Adenosine," Cronus said, ushering his gaurd to return to his side. He listened as Adenosine spoke, his eyes suddenly rid of their natural calmness, and now took on a more serious, worried tone.
"Your king... and the princess?" asked Cronus... his voice trembling slightly, but before his question had been answered, the red-headed woman spoke, distracting him slightly. He watched her leave, turned to Gerret and laughed slightly.
"Shall I get her again, my lord?" asked Roderick.
"No, she's headed towards the old road anyway," Cronus said, then truned to the Von Lichtenstein. "Come, Adenosine, If you are accompanying us, tell me along the way, else I thank you for telling me, but i must be on my way. If you wish you make take refuge in Azaria."
Prince Cronus turned away from the man, and started after the woman. Before leaving the threshhold, he noticed a glint of silver in the corner of his eye, and walked over to it, realising it was his sword. After he'd fastened sword and sheath to his side, he walked into the dimly lit forest, accompanied by his Guard. He noticed the woman hadn't gotten far, she seemed to be a little indescisive in which route to take.
Cronus ran towards her, holding the handle of his blade as he did so, "Wait, you there!" he shouted to the woman, coming up beside her.
"Usually, when indebted to somebody, you don't usually leave their side, and seeing as I can't leave you to roam these forests alone, I'm going to have to ask you to accompany us," he said to the woman, looking her in the eye. Their was sounds of shouting in the distance, Cronus turned to Gerret, "Constantine Soldiers, we ought to get moving," Gerret said walking past Cronus and the woman.
Cronus looked back at the woman, "Well... the choice is yours," Cronus said.
"Prince Cronus would feel better knowing no harm has come to you," Roderick said with a smile.
"Cronus at your service, and your name miss...?" Cronus asked the woman. |*|

A relief flooded over Keikoa when Cronus asked her to join his party. Truth is she knew she was going to get lost in the forest, and she rather give in to help, than try and be stubborn. Roderick once more showed his friendly side, and Keikoa sensed that the group would want to help anyway, so no harm would be done.

"My name is Keikoa, and I would love to join you."Keikoa responded giving a half smile.

Keikoa heard the battle cry of the Constantine soldiers, and shook her head slightly, "Fools" Keikoa thought to herself. Returning her attention to Cronus any hint of a smile left her face. "I know you saved me once, but if they catch up to us, they will not kill you. They will kill all your guards, but not you and me. I would rather die out here in the wilderness than to go back to the King, and have him mock me like i'm some peasant who is beneath him." Keikoa said pausing, "And I trust that if I go with you, you will make sure that doesn't happen for yours and my sake."

Keikoa turned, and followed the man who had walked past her. Finally taking the butterfly clip out of her hair, she raked her hands through her hair a few times. She pushed her hands through her hair, pulling it up and twisting it into a bun. Keikoa placed the pin in her hair to hold it and continued to walk on.

Adenosine agreed to Cronus's suggestion and turned to survey the mercenary camp one more time. *Kendric could you really be alive?* Adenosine shook his head at this thought and hoped it was true and not his mind playing tricks on him. He heard one of Cronus's men say something about Constantine soldiers on their way to their position.

"There may be a demon master with them, so be careful." He said to the group of soldiers, some of them had a look of fear in their eyes that made Adenosine smile to himself, "Dont worry Demons are fairly easy to take down."

He left them and followed the path that the prince walked down to overhear him asking that red hair girl to join their group. *We dont need some servant girl to slow us down.* Adenosine kept walking though and started following Gerret down the path. He saw the girl stop, fix her hair, and continue walking, He knew this wasn't going to go well with her in the party and hoped it wouldn't be all that bad.

|*| Now that the woman spoke, it reminded him of what could have been. If he had only thought to strike the king and sacrifice his life, then this would have all come to an end. At the expense of not only his life, but probably the woman’s and his Guard. A fitting price to pay for peace, but even still now that he thought of it, the Constantine would probably not give in, even after the death of their King. Although ruthless, they were determined, proud people. Cronus had heard what Adenosine had said about the Demon Master, thinking to himself “Perhaps we should back track” as he’d never quite seen a demon up close before. It was tempting, but he forced it back, turning to Keikoa.

Cronus nodded, “I’ll ensure you that that won’t happen, Keikoa,” he said, then turned to Adenosine, noticing his glaring at keikoa, “I’m sure everyone here, will ensure that we all get out alive,” he said, looking at Adenosine. He looked over the man, noticing his serious grim exterior, molded into a soldier all his life, no doubt.
“Anyone have a communicator?” he asked looking at his Guard, all of whom shook their heads. “We lost all our equipment at the castle. They took everything…,” muttered Roderick.

Cronus nodded looking down at himself. He was still wearing the Constantine Knight armour, which was beginning to feel awkward. He stripped off his chest plates, and hurled it off as hard as he could to the right of them, turning to Adenosine he said, “They’ll find the threshold we were in, so they already know we’d have passed, no harm in dropping something now, and seeing as I threw it over there, maybe that’ll put them off,” he said. “How long till the old road, Gerret?” he asked the Knight.
“Not long now, my lord,” the man said, walking fairly briskly through bushes and shrubs.

He looked back at Keikoa, walking silently at his side, “Why were you in the King’s room when I came in?” he asked, feeling slightly nosey for asking, but he stared at her nonetheless. They emerged out of the forest, and onto a dirt-ridden road, that seemed to extend in both directions forever. Several farmsteads and houses were placed near the road. “Altier, my lord,” said a soldier walking in front of them. “There by that house,” the man pointed to an old, ill-looking house laden with cracks and holes.

Altier walked towards them, “My lord,” he said to Cronus, bowing his head slightly as he did so, “I have done as you asked. The king knows. It was hard for me to get out, but I managed it,” the man said.
“I see you haven’t lost your touch. You found us rather easily, Altier,” Cronus said, pointing next to Roderick. The man understood the command instantly, and joined their ranks, standing next to Roderick without another word.
“What have I gotten us into, Altier?” Cronus asked.
“The king is furious, Sir,” Altier said, looking forwards. “He says you have caused the death of Azaria. They were already preparing when I left, Milord.”
“Preparing… he overreacts,” Cronus muttered. He turned to Keikoa.

“If you wish you may retire in Azaria,” he said to her, then looked at Adenosine, “Will you be joining us to Azaria? If so… don’t you think we should take the princess with us?” he asked, looking at the man, his face emotionless, but his eyes filled with intent.
“We shall decide what to do in, Azaria,” Gerret said, “Sorry for interrupting Prince Cronus, but the fact that we’re walking and talking casually whilst Constantine soldiers hunt us, is fairly bizarre to me-”
“Calm your nerves, Gerret,” Cronus said calmly, “But perhaps you are right.” |*|

The walking wasn't at all hard for Keikoa, since she had worked in the castle where no slack was given. Adenosine's comment rolled off her exterior guard, she was used to being called a servant girl, and an assumed weakling. The scene excited her, never in her life had she been so far away from the castle. The circumstances weren't good, but it was better to enjoy what she can then worrying about certain problems.

Once out on the dirt road, Keikoa wondered why they called it an old road. Her curiousity sprang, but she surpressed it and remained quiet. As Prince Cronus spoke, Keikoa waited to reply finding it hard to sum up the incident in words. The best way to explain it, was a simple answer without going into detail.

"I was being thrown out of the castle." Keikoa said, figuring it didn't explain everything, but just enough.

The prince had some many guards, and yet he was capable of protecting himself. All seemed loyal with different personalities, but they were faithful to their prince. How did it feel to have constant protection all the time? Must have been nice even for a prince. Keikoa heard talk of Azaria, she had never heard of it, but it could be a new start.

"I guessing I have no choice, there is no place else for me to go." Keikoa sighed shrugging.

It dawned on her that ever since preparing the rooms for the Constantine guest, that she hadn't got any rest. Fatigue was starting to set it, but Keikoa was used to pushing herself past her normal limit. The days of being Constatine were hard, and there was a time when she had even thought that she should be grateful. Now she laughed at the thought, there was a big difference between giving someone an opportunity for a better life, and stripping their freedom. The king was a horrible man, who didn't care about anybody, but himself.

Keikoa wondered how she would have felt if Prince Cronus killed the King. She smiled, her eyes lighting up, once she came to conclusion that she still would have been sad. No amount of anger in the world could be possessed in her that she would actually find joy in a death of a human being. Keikoa's emotions would indeed be her downful. Even her mother had once said to her, "You look at the world as a fairytale waiting to happen, but it isn't. You let your emotions run you, but you are not ready to venture into the real world." If only her mother could see that she was saved by a Prince. Her mother would double over with laughter at the sight of it. Keikoa was caught up in her thoughts and she followed along quietly.

"Kenric, Your trying to hard. Your tense and too jittery that would get you killed on the field of battle." The concerned look upon Aden's face was enough to make Kendric correct his mistakes.

"Aden, whats it like working as the king's personal guard?" asked Kendric after they finished their sparring. Aden stopped for a moment to think of the best reply.

"It's actually pretty boring. I just stand behind the throne most of the time watching the councilers run around with important papers." As he replied Aden could see the crestfallen look upon Kendric's face, "Dont worry though I do get sent on special missions." Kendric immediately picked up his head as if hoping to hear more but Aden only smiled at him.

*****************************************

Adenosine forgot where he was for a moment and thought he was actually back home. He felt a tear slide down his cheek at that memory. "I hope your alright Kendric." He said quietly enough so no one could hear him. They had traveled this path for over a hour and had only made a quarter of the way to Azaria. He figured that the soldiers following them had finally given up the pursuit and turned back. He was about to say something when a giant shadow passed over them. They all looked up at the same time hoping that it was nothing serious, but Aden knew that the demons always find you.

|*| Still walking beside keikoa, he nodded to her reply, ?I see, then you lived in the castle? perhaps you may just return the favor yet,? he said to her, and then left her to drift away in her thoughts. He walked up to Roderick, placing himself in between the man and Altier. ?Where is my airship?? he asked Altier softly.
?I left it at the border as you instructed, my prince,? Altier said, his voice only loud enough for Cronus to hear.

Prince Cronus glanced back at Adenosine, noticing the man seemed to be deep in thought. He hadn?t even heard Cronus? question, however Cronus hadn?t been too insulted. He was use to Adenosine ignoring him. Gerret walked up beside them, ?My lord, by now the Constantine army is no doubt preparing their legions in arms. They will probably strike as soon as they can, once they?re past Durch. What are you expecting of us, Sire?? The man asked, his face looking somewhat saddened.

?We shall see?,? Cronus said simply. A dark shadow seemed to suddenly overcome them. He turned around to stare at the party, noticing Adenosine had awoken from his thought. ?What is it?? he asked aloud. The Shadow began thickening forming into a black cloud that seemed to envelop them almost instantly. There was no time to run. No time to think, it happened all too quickly.

A thick black mist surrounded them, blocking out everything else. Cronus could hear deep wheezing breaths coming from somewhere in the shadows. Suddenly dim outlines of figures appeared in the mist, and these ?Daemons? walked out, circling the party. Daemons in the form of humans, their eyes red in fury, blood dripping from their open mouths?, and long black robes extending over their bodies. They wore the crest of Constantine along their front. And then they lunged forwards all at once. Cronus drew his sword pushing Keikoa to the ground as he did so. He ducked, parried, and slashed a Daemon across the abdomen in just a matter of seconds. |*|

He felt the coldness from the mist, the pain and suffering of all those these Daemons killed reeked upon the air. Adenosine was accustomed to this mist from the battlefields and wondered how the others were fairing in this. He looked around to see himself surrounded by some of the biggest Daemons he ever seen.

"Inviso humanus vallo obviam nos. Satis facio mihi rideo risi risum." The Daemons started laughing at this, and Aden could see blood and saliva dripping from their mouths. He smiled hoping some of them had seen the smirk so he could see their reactions. Some of them were startled by the smirk and began to attack him.

"Attero malum , Subvertio inhumanitas!" Adenosine screamed and dodged the attacks from the Daemons with ease. He unsheathed Beastkin from his back and started cutting down the beasts with ease. By the time he was finished slicing down the Daemons near him, he heard screaming coming from the front of the group. Aden calmly proceeded to the sound all the while cutting down monster after monster that got in his way. He cut down one of the beast to see Cronus standing over the servant girl and slicing at the beasts near him. Adenosine walked over to them, picked up the servant girl and thrusted a short sword into her hands. "Prove yourself."

"Ahh Everto Trucido, been awhile since I fought you last," Adenosine turned to see what said this and saw a giant Daemon standing before him, he could also smell death on the beast and wondered who it killed. It was dragging along a giant axe that was covered in blood, "Last time I saw you, you were over the body of your apprentice."

"Leave Kendric out of this, Woodsman," Adenosine replied with hate in his voice, "You will die for what you did to him." And without warning Aden leaped at the deamon bringing his blade in an upward slash to the monsters abdomen. It easily parried the blow and came with a counterattack to Adenosine's head, the swing went high over his head as he ducked under it and brought his blade back up with a thrusting motion to the Woodsman's chest. It was a little slow on the dodge and was scratched along its torso by Beastkin, altough it wasn't a direct strike the wound immediatley flared up.

"What is this? Everto Trucido?" The demon actually sounded scared but Adenosine knew it was all a lie.

"After our last fight I decided to have my weapon inscribed with holy runes. You are no longer immune to my blade." Adenosine smirked at this remark and quickly struck the Daemon before it regained its composure. This last strike was true and landed squarley on its head, the monster shrieked and brought its axe up and imbedded into Adenosine's arm nearly severing it at the elbow. Adenosine winced from the pain but didn't let it overcome him, instead he pulled down his sword splitting the Woodsman's skull in half. Its body immediatley caught on fire, this caused Aden to look to cover his eyes with his one good arm while his other one healed, "Damn My healing is taking forever."

Keikoa felt like a coward while the men fought off the demons. They were skilled, and she trusted them enough to feel safe, but this was indeed her first encounter with live demons. Her heart beat skipped viciously, but she tried not to let her girlish emotion distract the warriors. It was odd to see a Constatine symbol on the demons, but she had never seen one. Sure there were tails about demons, but it all seemed like a old tale to scare the townspeople. Such horrible creatures, this only brought more hate toward the Constantine castle.

Keikoa watched Prince Cronus, then her gaze moved over to Adenosine who was walking toward them. Something about his vibe didn't sit quite well with Keikoa, but she didn't want to judge to quickly. As he gripped her arm, pulling her up, she confirmed that she didn't care for him at all.

"Prove yourself." were the words that he spoke before giving her a sword and going off to fight again. Who exactly did he think he was. After all for most of her life all she knew how to do was serve others, and take orders. Keikoa stared blankly at the sword, blinking a few times in disbelief. Maybe this was it. Maybe this was the time to put her powers to actual use, and finally become more than a passive girl who let people run over her. It was time to fight, Keikoa lifted her head in confidence.

A demon rushed toward her then stopped a grin visibly on his face. Lifting her sword shakily all her confidence a gone leaving her weak. The demon advanced slowly, as Keikoa took a step back in retreat. "My my aren't you pretty." The demonic voice said making Keikoa shiver, but still holding the sword up right. She didn't know how to fight, nor did she possess any other skill dealing with a sword.

The only chance that she could come up with to actually stay alive was to use what she knew. The demon prepared to rush Keikoa, but the sword slipped from her hands. It floated for a second before darting foward into the demon's abdomin. Keikoa held her hands out to steady the sword, her eyebrows drawn together in concentration. The demon looked down and laughed as if mocking her. Her anger spilled over, but she still held the sword steady. "You gonna have to do better than that...." The demon started, then stopped as the sword shot straight up.

The demon was split in half from the stomach all the way to the tip of his head. He fell slowly to the ground his up have going in two different direction. The sword returned to Keikoa's hand, who was trying not to gag at the sight and smell of demon blood. For a mere moment, she felt proud of herself. She faced something and proved herself even if she didn't have to. "Prove that." Keikoa snorted, and looked around her.

|*| Prince Cronus barked out orders to his Guard as he felt the worse of the Demons overwhelm him. Gerret had already transformed, proving his worth as he handled most of the Demons. The Guard had no weapons so they had to make use of their abilities to repel the Demons attack. In honesty, the Prince hated to fight unless he was forced to. It just seemed uncouth and pointless to him. Cronus winced as he saw two of his soldiers fall to their knees, their bodies ripped and bloodied. However he couldn?t stare long as he was pushed and thrown to the floor, tumbling for a while before he stopped.

The demon landed on top of him, but he used an energy burst to throw it off. He sat up, noticing a Demon advancing on Keikoa, he was about to help her, but then he?d seen what she?d done. Telekinesis, an ability not normally found with a servant. He was curiously amused by what she had done. It all seemed to have come to a stop when Adenosine took on the big demon. Prince Cronus sat there unmoving, just watching as everything around him seemed to slow down. Get up his mind told him, but he didn?t react. The ground was littered with Demon bodies, their blood tainting the dirty road. Suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder pull him up, and his Guard surrounded him.

?My lord?? Roderick said which Cronus knew all too well really meant ?What should we do now?? The huge demon was a blaze now.
?To the airship, everyone!? Cronus shouted.
?Quick now run, before more arrive!? shouted Gerret to the party. The black mist seemed to dissipating now, and the sunshine tore through showing them the way. The feeling of warmth and light made Cronus feel at ease as they emerged back out in the open, escaping from that hell. It wasn?t exactly what he?d been expecting. |*|

Adenosine stood over the burning corpse of the Woodsman, he heard the other daemons leave the area and felt the fog begin to fade. There was faint shouting near him but he couldn't make it out. Everything seemed miles away as he stood over the hulking mass, "I fulfilled my promise Kendric, The Daemon will no longer hurt anyone else."

Aden turned and followed the group out of the remaining fog. The sunshine felt good though he kept his arm hidden from view not sure on how it would react to the warmth. He heard someone say something about an airship at the border. *That shouldn't be too far from here, hopefully my arm will be fully healed by then.*

He felt his wound flare up when he held his arm up in the sunlight, the pain actually cuased him to wince. How could he forget about the effects of the Woodsman's axe when he experianced it first hand the last time they fought. He could feel his head was on fire and he felt nauseous. The fever that accompanied all this was tunneling his vision and was causing him to lose balance, *If this keeps up I wont make it back to the princess* Aden saw one of the knights come near him, and recognized him to be the medic of the group. "Sir, let me see your arm, it looks like its injured." His voice sounded all jumbled together to Adenosine, so he pulled his arm away hoping the knight would leave him alone.

"No use, this will take awhile to h--" Adenosine felt himself collapse and hit the ground, he could see the medic rush to him, he couldn't make it toAdenosine to keep him from hitting the ground, nearly a second later though Adenosine slipped from consciousness.

Once the haze had lifted she dropped the sword, moving it further away from her with her foot. The smell of it made her guts churn, and it was best to just give up the weapon. The men were yelling to get to airship, and Keikoa started to run just as she was told. Excitement bubbled up inside of her, despite the circumstances. Never before had she been on anything that flew, all Keikoa had ever been was to the town and back. A twinge of guilt set off, how could she be thinking about her own experiences at a time like this. People had died by the hands of vicious demons, and there was a possibility there were more in advance.

Nevertheless Keikoa was excited to see what it was like to actually fly. In a matter of a whole day her life had changed into something huge, even if it was just for a while. She stopped and turned to see Adenosine go down, just then her anger toward the man disappeared. She remained still has she watched the medic go to his side. Now she was confused, should she stay or run like she was told. Keikoa worried that Adenosine might die. Yes he might have been a judging fool, but he didn't deserve dying at the hands of a demon.

Keikoa put a arm over her mouth and nose from a smell that was too strong to her. She wondered if anybody could smell it too, and if so why didn't they seem affected by it. The smell was awful, but she maintained her composure. Keikoa narrowed her eyes as she watched, and waited to see if she could help in any way. Even though she was qualified, she could dress a wound. Countless times the knights had came into the castle bloodied and battered from a street brawl, or just a pointless battle. Keikoa had taken care of them because she was instructed to do so because they were considered royals. Though she never quite gotten over the distaste for blood, she could stand it when needed to.
