Should Chat Avenue Allow Underage Moderators?

Ah ok thanks for clarifying.

I am only speaking about Adult Chat but when a new mod starts we try and have another mod (usually a senior or more experienced mod) take them through the different mod tools and, of course, make sure they have read and understand the rules of the room.
So we don’t just throw them into the room alone. We will have them mod with other mods till they get more experience and also so they can ask questions about things.
We also have a way to communicate as a whole team so that we are all on the same page about how we handle certain things that go on in the room.

Modding in AC takes a lot of focus, can be stressful and goes at a very fast pace because we usually have over 1,000 ******** at any given time. There are a lot of violations and you are constantly in action. So we try hard to support new mods so they don’t burn out and don’t feel alone.

Yes but however, that still wouldn’t convince any parent in their right mind to let their kid moderate adult content in an online chat room. I know I wouldn’t let my kid do it and I’d freak the fudge out if I found out she was doing it without me knowing about it. And I’d wonder what the hell kind of website and people are letting kids be exposed to that crap as a staff member.

Actually, this is incorrect sorry. Please see the following definitions of the American rating system.

MPA has five rating categories:

G (general audiences), All ages admitted. Nothing that would offend parents for viewing by children.

PG (Parental Guidance Suggested) Some material may not be suitable for children. Parents urged to give ‘parental guidance’. May contain some material parents might not like for their young children.

PG-13 (Parents Strongly Cautioned) Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. Parents are urged to be cautious. Some material may be inappropriate for pre-teenagers.

R (Restricted) Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian. Contains some adult material. Parents are urged to learn more about the film before taking their young children with them.

NC-17 (Adults Only) No one 17 and under admitted. Clearly adult. Children are not admitted.
