Should Chat Avenue Allow Underage Moderators?

So basically what I’m seeing is all these would be or current parents would allow their 15 year old daughter to frequent and moderate a chatroom they know fully well isn’t appropriate for kids to be in.

Good to know where you all stand on this issue.

Weird hill to die on but not really surprising given the crowd here.

Correct. Without a parent or guardian. Which means you couldn’t get into said movie on your own. Which was the point I was trying make.

And who are you exactly to be deciding this for all the kids and/or their parents on this site for them?

I’m sorry, but where there are kids, there are perverts. In churches, in schools, in parks, in daycare centres, in hspitals, in malls. Maybe just make it so kids don’t exist? Take away the ‘temptation’ of creepy adults? Exile us to an island until we come of age?

How about we talk about punishing the evil, not the kids? Why is it always us that has to suffer for the shortcomings of adults?

You’re missing the point. Everyone agrees bad things happen and exist in this world. And nobody can shelter anyone from those things.

But intentionally putting someone in that position when they didn’t have to be, that’s an absolutely seperate matter. Please understand this.

There’s no need to start with the insults. I never insulted you. Don’t attack my ability to communicate, as this is a very personal thing to me.

Firstly, people knowingly put their kids in these places I mentioned everyday, assuming they’re ‘moderated’, only to find evil is lurking inside.

Kids chat and 13+ rooms are the same. They’re open for us. They’re not supposed to have sexual content. They’re moderated.

And I also like to point out, how do you know if I do or do not have parental consent to be here and/or moderate? That’s called an assumption.

You don’t know me, yet you find it OK to suggest that a 15 year old “lacks reading comprehension” simply because she has an opinion that’s not popular with you? And you assume I’m here without permission? Should I introduce you to Sang who once tried to doxx me on this very forum and find out?

Let’s keep this civil, kidults.

You didn't mean it was adults doing the weeding, as you've clearly argued adults shouldn't be in the kids chats (something many others similarly argued)

edit: might want to take note forums posts (by your own words) ^ are not always an accurate reflection as to the actual state of any room.

As I said last night, I never knew it was a haven for creeps. @Samwise please take a moment and read things before twisting them. As I said, I knew there were 1 or 2 minor mods there, but had no idea they were dealing with peds and pervs there. Had I known that I would’ve said that they shouldn’t be modding in that case. And my argument about adults in kids chat has always been clear. Adults should NOT be in there lurking/chatting, only that adults 18 to early mid twenties tops should be modding the room. Hindsight is 20/20.

And you further accuse me of going off topic? That’s a total lie. I simply responded positively to something Pinky said, even complimenting her. You deleted that post why? To cover up the truth because you know you’re wrong perhaps. Be better. Do better. You can’t have a debate about something YOU brought up if you’re going to silence opinions opposing yours. Thank you.

I believe she was removed for being inactive, or something like that. I don't know the whole story.

But, still I'm concerned about the exposure of adult content in General Chat. She's still a minor and may not be ready to deal with some of the topics and behaviors that occur there.

I think there was a misunderstanding or mistake of the removement (for Kids Chat).

I can talk to the owner and see if they reconsider your case.

The staff of this website think that it is okay for minors to partake in sexual conversation. That is all that seems to matter.
 
General chat is the age is 13+. She was asked to help and she said yes that’s not your decision to decide. She wants to and was asked to help so let her help i don’t get what’s so difficult here. And if you’re gonna respond back to this say something original for once. IT’S HER MIND NOT YOURS.

I'm a KC moderator right now and haven't had any sexual conversations.

But, now that the users probably know that there is an underage moderator they could potentially take advantage?

And if that happens the situation will be taken care of. Pinky isn’t stupid. She’s able to handle things herself respectfully. I honestly think this thread is very very very, very stupid.
